An experience worth sharing: Shikha Sharma

If you feel like there is something out there that you are supposed to be doing and if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and do it- this is what I followed to accomplish my goal.

I opted for science after completion of my 10^th. My parents wanted me to become an engineer but I was not at all interested in pursuing the same field. Instead, I wanted to become a writer but at the same time, I could not break my parent’s heart. I never left hope and I kept on trying.

After completing 12^th, I took admission in B.Sc (Interior and Furniture design) for my graduation. During schooling, my primary goal was to grab a degree from a renowned university. My parents searched for good colleges/universities and they finalized Lovely Professional University, as that seemed to be the best for building my career since it has the highest placement record. I took admission at Lovely Professional University because of its reputation.

Being enrolled at Lovely School of Architecture and Design was one of my best decisions as the school is ranked among the top ten promising architecture institutes of India by Higher Education Review. I still miss my college days. We had a lot of fun during our classes. Our faculty members were very good at delivering lectures. They used to focus on every student present in the class. We worked on various live projects such as Khadi Haat, hospital for children, residential building, corporate office and many more for practical exposure. Not only this, we enjoyed a lot during international conferences like NICHE IPM, IDOT held at the campus. I extended myself beyond the boundaries of the classroom by participating in many extra-curricular activities in the events such as Youth Vibe (Asia's largest youth festival).

Honestly speaking, the university really transformed me up to various extents. It provided soft skill classes for developing our personality and to become industry ready. I am thankful to my university for boosting up my confidence. Each and every class was very interactive and energetic and students also get an exposure to real-life challenges with study tours which are truly life-changing. We went to Gujarat, Agra, Delhi, and Mumbai for our study tour where we observed beautiful interiors of the famous buildings and we implemented those in our designs as well.

Overall, I would like to say that my experience at LPU has been one of the best experiences of my life. I can never forget the moments I created at the campus as a student. I have made many friends from across the world and we are still in touch with each other. My university has helped me to become a successful person and a better version of myself.
