The admission for any course can be taken in the online mode, in a simple and convenient way. One just needs to enter his present qualifications and select the desired course in which he/she wants to take admission. Then there will be a list of courses available according to the choices made.
Pandemic has caused a lot of problems in the education system and structure not only in India but the whole world. Due to the pandemic, most of the universities and colleges have gone online for all the activities like semester exams, classes, assignment submissions etc. Same is the case with the admissions (2020) of Lovely Professional University. The admissions for 2020 is completely online and the admission process is via the admission.lpu.in website. Before the pandemic, the admissions used to be taken both online and offline (via admission counsellors). In case of offline, various teachers visit all the states and union territories of India, and thus help students who want to take admission in the university and also help them solve their queries regarding the university. The online admission is the easiest and the convenient way for a student to get admitted to any university/college. But if one gets to interact with the current teacher who is teaching in the university he/she would get a good insight into the university and the rules & regulation.
The hostel booking was also easier in the offline scenario as one could directly convey their choice to the counsellor and inquire about the availability of the room and seater of choice. The online admission in LPU has improved due to the pandemic and the process has become smoother than it was before pre-COVID times. The admission for any course can be taken in the online mode, in a simple and convenient way. One just needs to enter his present qualifications and select the desired course in which he/she wants to take admission. Then there will be a list of courses available according to the choices made.
Then he/she needs to click on the desired course and then he/she will be able to see the curriculum, fee structure, scholarship structure etc. In pre-pandemic times, there was an induction process for every new student for 3 days after he/she arrives at the university. During these 3 days, one can easily get accustomed to the university norms and regulations. There are a number of blocks, according to the courses, there is a different building for a different course. During these three days of induction, he/she would visit his/her own study block. Coming to the hostel, a student can choose from the various seaters available starting from single to the dormitory of 16 people. For example, if a student has completed his B.Tech and wants to pursue MBA from LPU then he/she will have to go to https://www.admission.lpu.in/ and enter the details and select the course MBA.
Then he has to choose the number of years, check out the fee structure and the scholarship criteria, then select on getting online admission. He/she will have to pay a nominal amount of Rs 10,000 for booking the seat. He/she will then be prompted to take an LPU NEST entrance exam which he/ she can schedule in the next 4 days. The admission counsellors also will help them via call, the number for which can be found on the website. The online fees of Rs 10,000 can be paid by both bank branch visit, online through debit card, net banking as well as Paytm. If one wants to withdraw admission after paying Rs 10,000 then he/she can also do that by easily conveying their problem to the counsellor and asking for a refund. The university will deduct a nominal amount of Rs 1000/- and will refund back Rs 9,000/- to the bank account of the payee.
The minimum criteria for MBA is 55% score in the previous qualification. The scholarship is decided based on previous qualification, previous to previous qualification score or on various other factors like army etc. One can also get a good scholarship by scoring good marks in LPU NEST (entrance test). On account of the lost time due to the pandemic, the university has made the online admission process events smoother and the admission counsellor is available till 10 pm or 11 pm in the night. There is also an extension in the admission dates which used to be till 15th July now has been extended till 31st July for the convenience of the aspiring students.
Even there is a live chat option from 10:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening so that one can interact directly with the admission counsellor via chat. There is also a WhatsApp number by which aspiring students can share his/her problems regarding the admission and they reply usually within 24 hours. Even one can call anytime in this number for getting their queries regarding the admissions solved. University is even offering scholarship for the students whose family members are working in the hospital for COVID duty. The university has also offered a scholarship for army personnel as well as sports quota person.
All the process for the admission of 2020 is online. The students can easily register themselves for the admission and the counselling is even done online via video call. The initial fee payment of Rs 10,000 can also be done via Paytm as well as through net banking or debit card. The last date for admission as of now (earlier 22 July 2020) is 31st July 2020. The students will get to know the scholarship amount after they have applied for LPU NEST exam. For some courses like MBA online counselling is mandatory. After the admission process is completed, they will be allotted a registration number. Also, they are contacting students who raise queries on websites like shiksha.com for making the admission process easier for the students.
The university is contacting the old students who have recently completed their graduation from LPU itself, so as to know if they want to pursue further education from the university. The university is also contacting the students who have raised queries via online chat, WhatsApp message or missed call. They also contacted those students who were stuck in the middle of the online process of admission. University is trying their best to make the admission process easier for aspiring students.
The university is also contacting students from various state boards and central board to know about the course they would like to pursue. In normal times, there used to be various education fairs held in every state through which universities connect to students and vice versa. But due to the pandemic, it is not possible now. So the university is trying every way possible to make the online admission process easy for the students as it is new for them. For many universities and colleges in India, the online admission process is a new thing which they have developed just because of the recent pandemic but admissions in LPU were possible in both online as well as offline mode even before the pandemic. But the online mode of admission has been further improved due to the pandemic.
