LPU has an app wherein all the upcoming company details are shown to the registered students and students can register/deregister for the specific company.

There are two types of placement drives in LPU -  Joint Placement Drives and Normal Placement Drives. In case of Joint Placement Drives, two or more colleges/universities, along with LPU, conducts the drive and students of those universities can appear for the placement procedure. In case of Normal Placement Drive conducted by LPU, the basic eligibility criteria for registering for placements in LPU is 5.0 CGPA (50%).

There is a registration amount of Rs 6000 (for non-Computer Science Engineering Branches) and Rs 8000 ( for Computer Science Engineering Branch) for the 2020 batch. Also, an amount of Rs 2300 is taken from students for the blazer (having LPU logo) and pants. Placement preparation classes are also scheduled for placement registered students on Saturdays where analytical skills, soft skills and course-related subjects are taught, also mock interviews are scheduled. The placement registered students are provided with AMCAT, Co-Cubes (paid access) for improving their skills.

LPU has an app wherein all the upcoming company details are shown to the registered students and students can register/deregister for the specific company. All placement details are also shown there, like CTC, job location, etc. For any course, the placement starts from the pre-final year, for example, a student is pursuing a 4-year course, then the placement opportunity will start from the 3rd year. There are various terms and conditions policy for the placements, like one student can deregister up to 10 companies maximum (+1/-1).

There are eligibility criteria for various companies like company A requires students with CGPA 7.0 or more and having no backlogs or company B requires students with CGPA 6.5 or more, having a maximum of 1 backlog. LPU automatically registers all the students eligible for the upcoming company and there is 1-day(normally) time given to the student to deregister, if he/she isn’t interested in the company.

Now coming to actual placement time, every day there are announcements made about company visiting the next day for placement in the LPU Touch App along with the list of registered students for that company placement and location (Block No. & Room No.) and reporting time. If there is any problem for any registered student regarding any particular company placement, then he/she can inform the same to the placement coordinator. All the students coming for the placements should be in proper formals (LPU logo blazer, pastel color full- shirt, black or matching blazer color pant, tie, black or brown shoes, well-groomed beard and hair).

After reaching the placement location, the company officials introduce their company details and the requirements/skills that they are looking for in the students in an interactive presentation. After the company’s presentation is over, students can ask their doubts to the company officials. Next, the placement round starts according to the company terms, might be an online test or a group discussion and concluding with a personal interview and can go on for 3 days maximum. Any student who is busy in placement drives and has classes to attend during the placement activity will be given duty leaves (marked present) for those classes.

Yes, with 80% in CBSE, choosing LPU for B.Tech CSE is a reasonable decision.
The program offers an industry-aligned curriculum, good lab exposure, and solid placement support. Your outcomes will mostly depend on how well you build skills, projects, and internships during the course.

If you think mechanical engineering is all dusty books and boring lectures, think again. At LPU, it's actually pretty solid. The course is more hands-on than people expect, with proper workshops, CAD/CAM, automation, EV basics, and real project work instead of just a theory grind. Add internships, i
