BCECEB will now not be conducting BCECE 2019 exam anymore. The board released notification on January 09, 2019 stating that admissions to UG engineering and medical courses will be done on basis of JEE Main 2019 and NEET 2019 scores.

BCECE 2019 Scrapped!

BCECE 2019 Scrapped: Bihar Combined Engineering Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has released a notification stating that from now on admissions to engineering colleges in Bihar state will be done on basis of JEE Main 2019 Scores. Also, admissions to UG medical courses in Bihar State Medical Colleges will be based on NEET 2019 Merit List. The notification also confirms Bihar State Government’s Agreement on the same. BCECEB will only be organizing seat allotment through BCECE 2019 Counselling after JEE Main 2019 Results for paper 1 and NEET 2019 Results are announced.

BCECE Board had earlier reported that it will be conducting BCECE 2019 in Computer-based test mode for admissions to UG courses at Bihar Engineering Colleges. But now, candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for JEE Main 2019 can participate in BCECE Counselling 2019 directly for admissions to Engineering Colleges in Bihar state.

  • BCECE 2019 scrapped, no separate examination for admission to UG engineering or medical courses in Bihar State Engineering Colleges and Medical Colleges.
  • Only BCECE Counselling 2019 based on JEE Main 2019 Results and NEET 2019 Results for seat allotment to UG engineering and medical courses will be organized

Competition level Increased!

Candidates who only wanted to appear in BCECE 2019 which is a state level entrance test will now have to appear for JEE Main 2019 which is a national level entrance exam and has high competition among JEE aspirants. Same is the case for the medical aspirants as NEET is the primary and only national level entrance exam.

BCECE 2019 Medical Aspirants lost a year!

Many candidates seeking admissions to UG medical courses in Bihar Medical Colleges were awaiting BCECE 2019 application form. Candidates who did not apply for NEET 2019 for which the application form was available till December 07, 2018, have a year wasted now. NEET 2019 will be conducted on May 05, 2019 and candidates who could not apply have no chance for appearing for the test.

Positive Outlook:

Candidates who are already appearing for JEE Main 2019 and NEET 2019 are now not required to take another entrance test for admissions to colleges in Bihar state.

By taking national level entrance exams i.e. JEE Main and NEET, candidates can take admissions not just in colleges in Bihar state but also in Top Engineering Colleges like NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and Top Medical Colleges all over India.

Yes, candidates need to sign on the BCECE admit card. But the signature should be done on the exam day in the presence of the invigilator. In case test takers sign on the admit card before the exam, it may lead to cancellation of the test.

As the BCECE syllabus is the same as the Class 12 Board exam, a common preparation will be sufficient. Along with that students should also solve BCECE mock tests and past question papers.

Students should start preparing for BCECE exam at least six to 12 months before the exam date. Since it is an undergraduate level exam, one can prepare together with Class 12 Board exam, or other national or state level entrance exams.

Even though the syllabus of the BCECE Mathematics is same as that of JEE Main, the difficulty level is not the same. JEE Main exam is much tougher than the BCECE exam.

The BCECE application fee has to be paid in online mode only. The different methods of payment are Credit Card, Debit Card, Netbanking and UPI. There is no possibility to pay in cash, cheque, etc.
