BCECE 2026 Exam: Dates, Eligibility, Application, Pattern, Syllabus

Yes, the applicant must belong to Bihar state or Candidate's parents must be a permanent residence of Bihar state. Candidates belonging to the parents who are permanent registered refugee of Bihar state can also apply. If student's parents belong from different state, but they are government employee of Bihar state are also eligible to apply.

The BCECE exam is conducted annually for admission to various professional courses in medical, engineering, and agricultural streams across institutions in Bihar. Applicants are advised to fill out the form separately for different choices of streams to appear in the exam. BCECE exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based). Candidates will be provided an OMR sheet in which they will have to fill in the correct option among the choices provided. Once marked on the OMR sheet, it cannot be erased as it will be filled with the pen. Test-takers will be allowed to fill only one answer option on the OMR sheet among four answer options.

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination or BCECE is conducted for admission in Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical and Agriculture streams of Institutions recognised by the Government of Bihar. The exam is conducted in a window of two days and slots.

Yes there is negative marking in the BCECE paramedical exam marking scheme. As per the guideline issued by the exam conducting body, for every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks and one mark would be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The marking scheme of the BCECE is explained below.

• Each paper will carry 100 questions and there will be four marks per question
• In case of wrong attempts, one mark will be deducted per incorrect answer
• The total marks for each paper will be taken out on the basis of correct attempts by candidates minus negative marking for incorrect attempts.

In the BCECE Pharmacy exam, important sections such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology carry a total of 300 questions. Each section will carry 100 questions of 1200 marks. There is no sectional time limit. 

Some important topics from BCECE Physics syllabus are: Physical-world and measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Gravitation, Heat and Thermodynamics, Properties of Bulk Matter, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid body, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Current Electricity, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Magnetic effects of current & Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating currents, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, and Communication Systems among other topics.

The questions asked in the PCB section of BCECE are of Class 12 level. The exam is of medium difficulty level. Candidates have to solve 300 objective-type questions in 4.5 hours. The BCECE paramedical question paper is provided in both Hindi and English languages. An OMR sheet is provided at the test centre.

The BCECE 2026 admit card is expected to be released in the first week of June 2026. The BCECE admit card will be released in online mode by the exam-conducting body, BCECEB.  Students have to download the BCECE hall ticket by entering their application number and password.

There are three sections in the BCECE Pharmacy entrance exam and applicants are required to attempt each subject-wise section in 90 minutes, respectively, and the total duration of the exam was four and a half hours. BCECE Pharmacy exam carries sections or groups of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or either Biology. 

Students who want to appear in the exam are advised to reach atleast 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. Similar to other exams, candidates appearing in BCECE exam need to visit the exam centre one day before also and check for the centre so that no last minute distrubance can be created.

Once the BCECE entrance exam admit card is out, the exam centre cannot be changed. The exam centre details will be mentioned on the admit card. Candidates must be careful about selecting the exam city choices while filling the application form. 

The BCECE exam is conducted in approximately 40 cities in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand. Since it is a state level exam, the centres are not located across India.

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) conducts BCECE competitive examinations every year for admissions in various professional courses of Medical, Engineering and Agricultural streams in the Institutions of the state of Bihar. So BCECE is not for admission in Bihar Flying Institute. The Institute conducts own entrance exam for admission.

The BCECE scores are accepted by the Agricultural and Medical institutes located in Bihar for multiple disciplines. The total number of institutes is approximately 90. Majority of the institutes accepting the scores of BCECE are for the Pharmacy, Paramedical and Nursing courses. For the Agricultural courses, around 35 colleges accept the scores of BCECE.
