The exam body, Karnataka Examinations Authority will release KCET 2026 question papers at its official website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea after the exam is over. Various coaching institutes will also release the KCET question papers with solutions on their website after the exam is over. Q:   Do the KCET questions repeat?
A: 

Yes there are chances of some questions getting repeated however practicing it is a good way of exactly understanding the demand of the knowledge required for cracking examination.

Q:   What types of questions are asked in the KCET exam?
A: 

The pattern for the exam is MCQs based on 11th and 12th syllabus. It is an offline exam with no negative marking.

Q:   What types of questions are asked in the KCET exam?

The type of questions asked are MCQs for subjects like physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology containing 60 questions each with no negative marking.

Q:   What is the KCET marking scheme?
A: 

Karnataka Examination Authority releases the KCET marking scheme in the official notification. Applicants appearing in the exam will be awarded one mark for every correct answers. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers in KCET exam. KEA will not deduct any marks for unattempted questions in KCET exam. As the exam is conducted in offline mode, applicants are advise to mark their answers carefully in OMR sheet. The questions with multiple options marked will be considered as wrong. Candidates are advise to cross check their answers before marking it in OMR sheet. Do not write anything on KCET OMR sheet other than marking answers.

Yes the authority does release previous year question paper along with answer keys.

Q:   What is the KCET exam pattern?
A: 

The exam pattern of KCET comprises various components like duration of exam, marking scheme and others. KCET exam is conducted for three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) for a duration of 80 minutes each. One mark is awareded for every correct answers while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in KCET exam. Applicants from Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga also have to appear for the KCET Kannada language exam which is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes.

Q:   Is the KCET exam conducted in offline mode?

Hi,

Yes, KCET exam is conducted in offline pen & paper mode across various centres every year. You will be provided OMR sheet to attempt the KCET 2025 exam. You have to mark the answers using black/blue ball point pen. You should note that no online exam will be conducted for any candidate. There will be four alternatives to all the questions asked in the exam. Each question will have one correct alternative. You must cross check your answers before marking it in OMR sheet. The authorities will not allow you to change your answers once marked in the OMR sheet.

No, there will be no numerical type questions in KCET. The question paper will have multiple choice questions and each question will have 4 options.

Karnataka Examination Authority releases the KCET question paper at the official website after the conclusion of the exam. Applicants can download the KCET previous year question papers at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.  

  • Visit the KCET official website - cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. 

  • Click on the KCET UGCET tab from the homepage. 

  • Now, click on the “Admissions” tab and select previous year question papers link. 

  • Select the year from the dropdown menu. 

  • Download the question papers for future reference.
