One can get the KIIT alumni card by registering on the alumni network and after the payment of INR 1000. Once registered on the alumni portal, one can constantly get reminders/ notifications regarding the suitable job opportunities/ vacancies on the registered mail-id on a weekly or fortnight basis.

An alumni network or association is a platform which brings current & passed out students of a university or a college under a single umbrella. Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology being one of the best private universities, has a strong network of more than 1,00,000 alumni. KIITAA or KIIT Alumni Association is already registered under Society Registration Act and was founded in the year 2013. Alumni regional chapters are currently present in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai & Bengaluru. 

All the passed-out students or those in their final semesters can apply for an alumni card with lifetime membership which has the following advantages-

  1. Access to the central library of KIIT
  2. Entry to various sports/health facilities 
  3. 20% off on hospitalisation charges in Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences
  4. 10% concession on courses offered by KIIT in tuition fees
  5. 20% concession on guest houses present on the campus for self, spouse & children

Alumni Portal of KIIT

One can get the alumni card by registering on the alumni network and after the payment of INR 1000. Once registered on the alumni portal, one can constantly get reminders/ notifications regarding the suitable job opportunities/ vacancies on the registered mail-id on a weekly or fortnight basis. The same portal can be used to share one's achievements, opportunities, etc. In case, one has misplaced his/ her degree certificates and other important documents, a request for duplicate copies can be easily raised on the payment of fees as decided by the management through the portal. If one needs a duplicate of your final grade report, transfer certificate, degree certificate, and migration certificate, it will cost INR 150, 200, 1000 and 300 respectively. Following are some of the key alumni from various branches of the KIIT School of Engineering:

  • Akash Chakraborty, Sumitri Ranjan Patra, Ratnadeep Sinha, Karun Bhujel, Md Rajiuddin and Mohd Atif are graduates from batch 2019, who were short-listed for pursuing their post-graduation at Nanhua University, Taiwan. The civil department played a crucial role & supported them to get enrolled in the university in Taiwan.
  • Ms Chinmayee Chetna Dash (batch 2015)- Civil Engineering bagged 1st rank in the OPSC examination which was a proud moment for the entire KIIT university.
  • Mr Kumar Nishant Ujjwal- Gold medalist in MTech from IIT Patna.   
  • Suman Sourav Mohanty- AIR- 9 in the UPSC exam, is a pass out from the Mechanical department.
  • Ms Swagatika Dash, pursuing her PhD in Microbial Ecology from the University of Osnabruck, Germany is an alumna of the Biotechnology Branch.
  • Mr Soham Mookherjee, pursuing a PhD from the University of Utah, USA.

In KIIT, students get to participate in several webinars and alumni talk series which are held on a regular basis in all Schools of Engineering, where the interaction between former & current students of the same branch happens. This not only helps the students but also the institute/ faculty to know about their alumni’s growth and they can reach out to them for placements/ referrals if needed.   • Recently, on May 2, 2022, KIIT alumnus Shashank Singh of School of Mechanical Engineering, Founder & Director, GRAM Association shared his thoughts on “Water Conservation & role of society."
  • School of Electrical Engineering organised its first international alumni meet on May 1, 2022, to get in touch with former students, who have moved out of India.
  • Mr Prateek Jat, alumnus, School of Mechanical Engineering shared his experience & thoughts on ‘A road to Managerial Roles’, & is currently pursuing his Masters in Engineering Management at the University of Texas at Arlington, USA.

No, KIIT does not offer BSc in Biotechnology. Instead it offer MS in BTech and a dual degree. Aspirants must meet the minimum eligibity to get admission. They must have at least 60% marks in class 12.

KIIT School of Electronics Engineering is not that costly and gives good education in Engineering field at a reasonable fees. The fees for various courses at the institute is between INR 1.5 L to INR 16 L.
