I completed my Senior Secondary education from a private school. In SSC you get to choose from optional subjects and the options were Computers and Physical Education. I chose Computers. From that day onwards, my interest developed in computers and at that time, I decided to take admission in an engineering college and complete my graduation with an engineering degree in Computer Science. My interest in taking Computer Science also had some career-related reasons too, other than personal interest or passion. The career-related reason was just the scope of a good Computer Science Engineer in India and foreign countries. A good engineer gets better placements and if not placed or not interested to work under a company, one can start their own start-up. That’s why I applied for the Computer Science course in Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar. Several factors made me choose LPU. These include the placement record of the university, the rank of the university in India and mainly, the students’ record in Computer Science. LPU was having a 100% placement record for Computer Science Engineering students for three consecutive years with a great package. Like in 2017, the highest package was 25.65 Lakhs. The seats were also limited, so the environment was good.

The procedure for taking admission in LPU was not so complicated for me and I hope it is similar for everyone now. LPU conducts an entrance test every year to take admission and on the basis of the marks of students, they are awarded with a scholarship. The name of the test is LPUNEST. I also applied for the same and got satisfactory marks with a 50% scholarship. The best way to prepare for LPUNEST is simple. It is totally based upon on your XI and XII syllabus and you should also care about your English as it is mandatory to pass in every subject. I applied for many colleges like Amity University and KIT but they were not providing better scholarships in comparison to LPU.

How to crack entrance exams

Revise the syllabus of your senior secondary class and you will be eligible for a great scholarship. If you need my advice and tips, just increase your grammatical strength, solve trigonometrical problems ability, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and all of the 12^th syllabus of Physics. I was also an IIT-JEE aspirant and I worked hard for this, but unfortunately, I did not qualify for IIT. But the information and revision did not go in vain. It helped me in other exams. So, I suggest you to just learn in every point of your life and take a good and suitable decision according to your skill.

For taking admission in LPU you just have to visit your nearby LPU office, submit all your documents, fill some forms and book the seats, as simple as making noodles. Make sure you have booked your seat already in your city or by visiting the campus, otherwise, instead of passing the exam, you would not be provided the required course or entry in the university. If you are not satisfied with your LPUNEST marks and scholarship, then just give the second exam of LPUNEST and the best will be counted.

My first visit to the university was totally amazing as the campus fulfilled all my expectations. The university campus was as big as described in the prospectus, approximately 600 acres with full security. Everything inside the campus from food court to the mall, from the gym to park, auditorium, playing grounds, better classrooms with every required technology, labs, a clean campus covered with nature and much more was available. When my class started, I was unware of many things including my main subject that is Computer Science. The teacher thought that we (all students) know the basics, so he begun by directly working on codes. It was a bit difficult for us to move out of this, but with time, we moved on and studied a lot. This course helped me understand the real development and about the machine world. Before this course, I was unaware about many things that includes many different computer languages such as Ruby, Kotlin and so on. This course also helped me to understand the reality of Deep World. You may not know about the Deep World; it’s a bit age-restricted, so you will be taught this with time. Now, I have completed my 1^st year and I think that I have made the right choice for my career. According to me, the skill that I am learning will never be useless and obsolete. You can call it immortal. All courses are immortal as well but CSE is immortal in a way that if you are not placed in any company due to any reason, you can start your own company.

You are responsible for your future so the better decision will be to craft your future. If you have any hesitation or problem in choosing your goal, just try to understand in which field you are working well and are interested in. Whether it is accepted by others or not, just do the thing in which you are skilled and great in and then only you will get success.
