Online classes are being conducted regularly on apps like Google Classroom and Moodle: Shubham, MAIT
These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.
The worldwide lockdown has adversely affected the studies. The situation becomes even worse when the students leave their studies and take a break. A strict lockdown has slowed down the spread of the infection but also restricted the studies. Keeping this in mind, different universities and institutes decided to utilise the time of classes and came up with a conclusion to give regular assignments and lectures. Online video lectures are provided by the teachers to clear the concept and cover the whole syllabus.
But it's observed that students were not taking it seriously and played music, made voices in between the lectures. The faculty decided to leave those lectures on their college's website so that whoever is interested can take the lecture from there without any time management issues. With this, the colleges ensured that the shutdown cannot affect studies. The assignments with submission date are given to students to cross the hurdle of loss of classes.
The teachers make use of various apps like Google Classroom and Moodle to make sure that students are submitting assignments as given without any issue and delay. Also, these days online video platform like ZOOM app is used by the teachers for conducting class lectures. Teachers are available all the time to help students whether for doubts clarification, questions related to assignments, etc. The college faculty tries to ensure that each topic of the syllabus is covered on time. Due to which they have started giving various assignments to students.
For practical work, they assign a proper format in which the students have to make practical files, although practical is not possible yet. They are even trying their best to focus on the consequences of spreading infection. The universities are sending emails or messages to make their faculty and students aware of the growing pandemic situation. They are sharing details on how to stay safe and secure, and the habits which should be adopted to get rid of the infection daily. The professors are providing the presentation to clear the concept easily.
Now, the colleges are starting online tests to make sure that the students remember the concepts studied. The HOD has started sending the links of different portals for downloading books, research papers, video lectures, etc. The links of portals like NPTEL, Swayamprabha, National Digital Library, Vidwan, etc. are shared by the faculty members to ensure that the concepts are cleared. They also send pdf files of practical or lab work to ensure that each student gets the details of the experiment.

With 82.57 percentile and Delhi home quota, CSE in MAIT/MSIT is almost impossible. For general quota CSE, MAIT closing rank is around 47–48k and MSIT home state around 109k. Spot round chances are super slim at this rank.
