GCET/Goa BE admission 2025 counselling process has ended. Candidates had to report to the Goa BE counselling venue on the date allotted to their rank and category. During the offline GCET counselling 2025 process, the candidates had to select their choice of courses and participating colleges. It was to be noted that the selection of courses and colleges had to be done in order of preference. Allotment of seats was done based on the candidate's merit, preferences, category and seat availability. GCET/Goa BE admission 2025 result/merit list has been released online at dte.goa.gov.in. Candidates had to check their eligibility for the counselling process through the GCET/Goa BE 2025 merit list. No login credentials are required to check the merit list, as it is available in PDF. GCET 2025 entrance exam will not be held. Along with JEE Main 2025 scores, the authorities also accept candidates based on their 12th standard qualifying examination marks. Registrations for non-JEE Main candidates were open until August 6, 2025. Candidates had to qualify JEE Main to be considered for allotment through Goa BE admissions 2025.

What is GCET?

Goa Common Entrance Test (Goa CET) exam is a state-level entrance test conducted by DTE Goa for admissions to professional degree courses in Engineering offered at various colleges in Goa. Goa CET is a state-level entrance exam and admission to these courses is governed by DTE Goa. However, GCET will not be held for the admission year of 2025-26. Instead, BE admissions will be done based on the candidate's score/rank in JEE Main.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for GCET?

Before registration, candidates should check GCET eligibility criteria. All candidates should be of Indian nationality. They should have passed 12th class qualifying exam with minimum required marks.

Q:   Are JEE Main scores accepted for GCET/Goa BE admission process?
A: 

Yes. DTE Goa has announced that the state will not conduct Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET). Instead the authorities will accept applications for the counselling and admission process based on the candidate's scores and ranks obtained in JEE Main. However, the candidates will be required to meet the basic eligibility criteria that will be prescribed by the DTE Goa authorities. All candidates will have to attempt one or both sessions of JEE Main to be eligible for GCET/Goa BE admissions. 

Q:   When will GCET be held?
A: 

GCET 2025 will not be held. In the previous year, DTE announced that the state will not conduct the entrance examination. Instead, admissions into the BE courses offered by the participating institutes will be done based on JEE Main scores/ranks. All candidates will have to attempt atleast one session of JEE Main and qualify it to be eligible for Goa BE admissions. More details regarding the counselling and admission process will be announced by DTE Goa.

GCET/Goa BE Admission 2025 Counselling

GCET/Goa BE counselling 2025 has concluded. The process was held to select candidates for BE admissions into the participating institutes. During the counselling process, the candidates had to fill out their choice of courses and colleges in order of preference at the venue. The order of preference was important since the authorities considered it during the seat allotment process, along with other factors. For admissions, the authorities consider the JEE Main 2025 ranks. Candidates have been allotted seats based on their candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. If the candidates fail to confirm their admission before the final date, then their allotment will be cancelled.

Q:   Can I fill out the GCET counselling form offline?

Yes, candidates are expected to have the option to access and submit the GCET/Goa BE admission counselling form offline. The counselling form will be available at - Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna,  PES Rajaram & Tarabai College of Pharmacy, Farmagudi and the Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim. Along with the counselling form, the candidates will also be required to submit their self-attested documents. 

Q:   How can I check the GCET seat allotment?
A: 

GCET/Goa BE seat allotment result will be declared offline. Candidates will be able to check their seat allotment result at the counselling venue. No other mode will be used to declare the seat allotment result. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability.

GCET 2025 Result/Merit List

GCET/Goa BE 2025 result/merit list has been released online. Candidates can now access the Goa BE 2025 admission merit list in the form of PDF. The list of candidates and their eligibility status for the counselling process is listed in the merit list. The details present in the merit list should be checked carefully. The JEE Main rank, along with 12th standard scores are also present in the result/merit list. Based on the merit list, the candidates have to participate in the offline GCET/Goa BE 2025 counselling process.

GCET/Goa BE Admission 2025 Application Form

GCET/Goa BE admission 2025 application form was released offline. All eligible candidates with a valid JEE Main 2025 score/rank had to fill out and submit the Goa BE 2025 application form to participate in the counselling and admission process. After the final date, no applications were accepted by the authorities. Candidates had to pay the application fee of INR 2000 online, i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. If the candidates were unable to fill out the application form before the final date, then they were not considered for the GCET/Goa BE 2025 admission process.

GCET/Goa BE Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for admission to the courses offered in the state through GCET/Goa BE admission will have to comply with the following eligibility norms. 

Nationality:

  • Candidates should be Indian nationals.
  • Non-resident Indians holding Indian passports may also apply for seats reserved under the NRI category.
  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are also considered eligible for admission to seats under the NRI Category.
  • Foreign Nationals must apply to Govt. of India.

Valid score in JEE Main 2025

  • Candidates must have appeared and obtained a valid score in the JEE Main conducted for the year of admission. JEE Main score of the previous year/s is not considered valid.
  • For Architecture, the candidate must have appeared and obtained a valid score at NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Qualifying Examination & Minimum Marks:

  • Candidates should have cleared the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board.
  • Or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board.
  • They must also have acquired the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects.

First Year B.E.:

  • Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only).
  • Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% aggregate marks for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC).

         OR

  • 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.

         OR

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of examination.

Kashmiri Migrants only in Engineering Courses:

  • The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology and secured not less than 45% marks in the subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.

Diploma/BSc Degree holder:

  • Candidates who have passed a Diploma in Engineering /B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std XIIth, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), were eligible for admission to First Year of Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in First Year after vacancies at Lateral Entry into Direct Second Year are exhausted.
  • The merit list of such candidates is prepared based on aggregate marks scored at the qualifying exam.

Q:   What is the GCET application fee?

While filling GCET/Goa BE admissions application form, candidates will have to pay fee of INR 2000. GCET application fee has to be paid while submitting form. No other mode of payment will be accepted. If candidates do not complete payment before final date, then their applications will not be accepted.

Q:   Will GCET application form be available online?
A: 

GCET/Goa BE admission 2025 application form was available offline. Candidates could buy Goa BE admission application form at different locations. Application form had to be filled out with their details and submitted before last date.

Q:   Which documents have to be uploaded in the GCET application form?
A: 

While filling application form of GCET/Goa BE admission, candidates have to paste their photograph. Photograph should be passport-sized and should be 3.5cm in width and 4.5cm in height. Photograph does not have to be uploaded online.

GCET admit card will be released by the authorities. Registered candidates do not need any credentials to access and download the admit card of GCET. After the GCET application form is filled, submitted and the fee is paid, candidates will receive the admit card in their registered email ID.

Q:   Which documents have to be carried along with the GCET admit card to the centre?
A: 

At the examination centre,  candidates will have to bring their GCET admit card. Along with admit card, candidates will also have to present one identity proof. Any of the identity proofs are valid to be presented at the examination centre - Voter ID/Aadhaar Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driver's License/School ID.

Q:   Can the exam centre be changed after the GCET admit card is released?

The authorities will not accept any requests to change the allotted exam centre after the GCET admit card. While filling out the application form, the candidates are advised to be careful while filling out their exam centre preferences. The authorities will allot the GCET exam centres as per the preferences and availability of the centre. No changes can be made after the centres have been allotted.
