KEAM 2026 Exam Pattern: CEE has set the KEAM exam pattern. The KEAM 2026 examination will take place in a computer-based format, featuring a single paper with three sections (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) for KEAM 2026 BTech aspirants and two sections (Physics, Chemistry) for KEAM 2026 BPharm candidates. To prepare for KEAM, candidates must know the KEAM exam pattern and the syllabus. Before we move ahead towards the detailed KEAM exam pattern, candidates must understand the exam syllabus. The KEAM syllabus usually consists of topics taught in Class XI and Class XII. Q:   How many questions will be there in KEAM?
A: 

The KEAM 2026 engineering paper will have a total of 150 questions. Mathematics will have 75 questions, Physics will have 45 questions, and Chemistry will have 30 questions to be answered in 180 minutes. For KEAM 2026 BPharm ONLY candidates, the Entrance Examination will have a total of 75 questions; 45 questions in Physics and 30 questions in Chemistry to be answered in 90 minutes.

Yes, the KEAM exam is completely MCQ type.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in KEAM?
A: 
Yes, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. For every correct response in KEAM candidates will be awarded four marks and for each wrong response, one mark will be deducted from the candidates' total score. The pattern of the exam states that the KEAM question papers will comprise objective type questions (MCQ). For each question asked, five answers will be suggested but, only one of them will be correct. All the questions asked will be from KEAM syllabus listed for Physics Chemistry Mathematics / Biology. Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer. 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 4 marks will be awarded to candidates for marking every accurate answer. No marks will be deducted for not attempting a question. In case a candidate has marked two answers for a single question in the OMR sheet, negative marking will be applicable regardless of either of the answers being right or wrong.

KEAM Exam Pattern 2026 for Engineering

KEAM engineering exam is held in computer-based test mode, and there is one paper. All questions in the exam are MCQ type. The total number of questions is 150 and each question carries 4 marks. For each wrong answer, 1 mark is going to be deducted. Total marks in the exam are 600, and the total time is 180 minutes.

The KEAM exam marking scheme is similar to the JEE Main. Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer. 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for not attempting a question.

Q:   Is KEAM an online CBT exam or an offline pen and paper-based exam?
A: 

KEAM was an offline exam until 2023. Candidates had to attempt the exam in pen and paper mode. All entries in OMR answer sheet are to be made with blue or black ink BALL POINT PEN only. However, from 2024 onwards, KEAM transitioned to CBT mode.
