Q:   What is the eligibility to apply for RBI Assistant?

A:

To apply for RBI Assistant exam, candidates must be a graduate and should be between 20 and 28 years. Candidates born not earlier than 02/09/1995 and not later than 01/09/2003 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply. Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years will be provided to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) candidates, three years to OBC, 10 years to PWD, 10 years to widows/divorced women/ women judicially separated who are not re-married, five years to candidates domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989, etc. The minimum qualifying marks in graduation is 50 per cent (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). Candidates must have knowledge of computers.

Q:   What is RBI Assistant selection process?

A:
The selection process includes preliminary and Mains exams followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The prelims exam is divided into three sections English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. The Mains exam carries questions from Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The marks of the Mains exam are taken into consideration for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for LPT. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. The prelims exam serves as a screening test for the mains exam.

Q:   What is the pay scale of RBI Assistant?

A:

The initial basic pay of RBI Assistant is INR 20,700 per month (as per revised salary) with a pay scale of INR 20700-1200 (3)-24300-1440 (4) – 30060-1920 (6)-41580-2080 (2)-45740-2370 (3)-52850-2850-55700 (20 years). The revised gross salary of an RBI Assistant is INR 45,050 per month including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. In case, the employees are not staying the apartments, they will be paid with House Allowance of 15 per cent of Pay additional. An amount of INR 3575 is deducted from the net gross pay of an RBI Assistant. Candidates are given reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, Newspapers, Briefcase, Book Grant, Allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. as per eligibility, Dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment or hospitalization as per eligibility, Interest-free Festival Advance, Leave Fare Concession, Loan and Advance at concession rates of interest for Housing, Car, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc. It will be available to regular employees who will put in at least two years of service. The recruits will be governed by the Define Contribution New Pension Scheme, in addition to the benefit of Gratuity.
