It will be released after the declaration of final result.

Image Specifications for UPSC Form 2026
The Union Public Service Commission will activate the UPSC application link at upsc.gov.in. The Commission can change the photo uploading process and enable the live photo capturing in its application. The Commission mention the image specifications in the official notification as well as in the UPSC registration form. The candidates will be required to upload the scanned image of the photograph, signature and photo-identity card.

The candidates should note that the Commission changed the UPSC application's image soecifications. The Commission added the following three points for the image specifications:
1. The photograph, uploaded by the candidate should not be more than 10 days old from the start of the online application process (i.e. the application commencement date).
2. Ensure that the name of the candidate and the date on which the photograph was taken are mentioned on the photograph.
3. The candidate’s face should occupy 3/4th of the space in the photograph.
In case of non-adherence to the above specifications, UPSC application will be rejected.
UPSC registration number was required to fill out the UPSC exam form. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) started a new facility of One-Time-Registration (OTR) for the candidates so that they could register for the UPSC exam at any time of the year. The UPSC stated that this facility was recently introduced on the lines of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

UPSC Exam Form 2026
The UPSC application will start on January 14, 2026. The Commission provided 20 days to fill out the UPSC 2026 application process. The candidates should be ready with a scanned copy of the passport-size photograph, signature and photo identity card in the size and format specified above. - The UPSC exam form will have two parts.
- First will be the registration
- Second will be the UPSC online application form
UPSC Registration Part -1
The candidates need to register for the UPSC exam and this will be a one-time exercise for the candidates.

The candidates will be required to verify their personal details. After filling in the details as given above, the UPSC registration will be generated and will be intimated on their email and mobile number.
The candidates will be required to log in with their registration number, email or mobile number. The candidates will be required to login into the official UPSC website to fill out the UPSC exam form.
UPSC Application Form - Part 2
The candidates will be redirected to fill out the UPSC exam form online.
- The candidates will get the half-filled UPSC application form. The UPSC exam form will get the information provided in the UPSC registration form.
- The candidates will be required to select the Photo Identity Card
- Enter the Photo Identity Card Number
- Confirm the Photo Identity Card Number
- The candidates will be required to upload their scanned copy of the Photograph and signature and the Photo-Identity Card in the prescribed format and size.
- The candidates will be required to select their preferred exam centre for the UPSC exam.
After filling the details above, the candidates will be required to submit the application fee for the UPSC exam. Without submitting the application fees, the UPSC exam form will not be completed.
UPSC Application Fee
The candidates will be required to pay the required UPSC application fee to complete the UPSC exam form. The UPSC provides exemptions to certain categories of candidates from submitting the UPSC application fee. The exemption provided by the UPSC is summarised below:

How to pay the UPSC Exam application fee?
Candidates can pay the UPSC Exam application fee online or offline mode.
- Online mode: Candidates can make online payment of the application fee via Visa/ Master/ RuPay credit/ debit card or internet banking of SBI.
- Offline mode: Candidates can make offline payments of the application fee by paying cash at any branch of SBI. Regarding the same, the official website states, “Applicants who opt for ‘Pay by Cash’ mode should print the system generated pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.” Candidates must note that the ‘Pay by Cash’ mode will be deactivated one day before the application process closes. However, candidates who have generated their pay-in-slip before the process is deactivated can make the payment at any SBI branch during banking hours on the closing date.

The Commission did not provide this facility last year. The candidates could withdraw their UPSC exam application by doing the following
- Visit the official website - upsc.gov.in
- Click on the What's new section
- Go to the Withdrawal of Application: Civil Services(Preliminary) Examination
- On the new screen, click on the link given for the withdrawal
- Again click on the Application withdrawal link given in the right corner
- Read the instructions and click on the Yes button
- Enter your registration-id and press continue
- Enter the following details:
- Name
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Fathers Name
- Mothers Name
- Mobile Number
- e-mail id
And select the option for the withdrawal of the application and press agree.
In the above manner, the candidates can withdraw their UPSC application.
