Yes, HPU is good for B.Ed. The admission shall be made on the basis of Academic Merit. The applicant should be a teacher possessing Graduation/Post Graduation Degree with 55% (50% marks in case of SC/ST) with two years teaching experience in a Government or Government recognised school located in the territorial jurisdiction of the University and within the State of Himachal Pradesh. The eligibility conditions are and shall be the same as prescribed by the NCTE/any other competent authority from time to time.

Himachal Pradesh University is recognised by UGC and NAAC. Also, HPU has a total of 7 institutes which include the Department of Evening Studies, HPU Business School, University Institute of Technology, HPU College of Business Studies, University Institute of Legal Studies, Institute of Tribal Studies, Institute of Vocational Studies. Since, it is a public state university, the programme fee is very less. 

Taking admission in HPU will also provide placement opportunities to students. The university conducts placement drive every year. HPU MAT is the entrance exam required for HPU Business School, Himachal Pradesh University MBA programme admissions.  HPU MAT is a computer-based test of two hours duration with 200 questions. It is conducted once in a year. The syllabus of the entrance exam is similar to national level management entrance test syllabuses, which include topics such as verbal ability, reading comprehension, quantitative ability, data adequacy, and data interpretation.

Candidates need to pass Class 12 examination or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and other elective subjects with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) to apply for HPU Shimla BTech/ BTech (Hons) programme.

Aspirants are required to first register for the BAMS course at HPU followed by selection rounds. Below is step-wise HPU admission process for BAMS:

STEP 1: Application Process

Candidates are first required to fill NEET application form. After NEET, aspirants need to fill out the online application form of HPU. The application fee is INR 2,000 for General and other categories (INR 1,000 for SC/ ST). 

STEP 2: Selection

Himachal Pradesh University selects candidates for BAMS based on NEET score. The university releases a provision category-wise merit list based on NEET score of the candidates.

STEP 3: Counselling and Seat Allotment

Selected candidates are further called for counselling. The result of counselling is made available on the official website of the university. Aspirants are required to confirm the allotted seat by paying the course fee.

Yes, Himachal Pradesh University accepts NEET score for admission to BAMS. NEET exam is conducted once a year in offline or paper-pencil-based test (PBT) mode for three hours and 20 minutes or 200 minutes. As far as the NEET exam pattern is concerned, there are 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, out of which 180 questions have to be attempted. Candidates after qualifying NEET have to apply for HPU BAMS programme. The university releases a merit list based on NEET score of the candidates. 

No, candidates won't be able to get admission to HPU with 700 as the HPU cutoff 2024 in itself is 642 for MDS in Prosthodontics course under General quota, considering the last-round of seat allotment results. However, for OBC AI quota, 700 rank is more than enough to get admission at HPU. The HPU OBC cutoff 2024 stood at 761. 

The HPU AYUSH Cutoff 2025 has been published for admission to the BAMS course at various affialted colleges for all round and categories. The cutoff was published in the form of opening and closing ranks for the All India category quota. The cutoff ranged from 48048 to 53652 in the first and last round for the General AI category candidates. Th HPU NEET MDS Cutoff 2025 was released for all categories under the All India quota. For the OBC AI quota, the closing cutoff ranged from 333 to 524 in the last round. Among all the MDS course specialisations, the hardest was MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with a cutoff rank of 333 for this category. In 2024, the cutoff rank for this course was 462, meaning that the competition has now increased for 2025.

HPU NEET MDS Cutoff 2024 was released for MDS admission. The closing ranks for various course varied between 160 and 642, for the General All India quota candidates. At 500 rank, the course available for the General AI candidates would be MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology and MDS in Prosthodontics, as these courses have a lenient cutoff.
