NIMCET 2026 Exam Pattern
Candidates were advised to review and familiarise themselves with the NIMCET 2026 exam pattern. Details regarding how the entrance examination was conducted can be checked through the NIMCET exam pattern 2026. According to the NIMCET exam pattern, the authorities conducted the exam as a computer-based test. Within the 2-hour duration, the candidates had to attempt 120 objective multiple-choice questions. Commonly asked questions
In the computer awareness section, 20 questions will be asked in the NIMCET exam. Topics covered in this section are as follows:
Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, and back-up devices.
Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.
NIMCET Mathematics section will consist of 50 questions. The topics covered in set theory and calculus are mentioned below:
- Set Theory: Concept of sets, union, intersection, cardinality, elementary counting; permutations and combinations.
- Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.

The eligibility criteria for NIMCET are as follows -
