- NIMCET is conducted annually by any participating NIT (on a rotational basis).
- It is a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- NIMCET assesses a candidate’s knowledge in Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, and English.
- Those who qualify for the NIMCET can secure admission to the MCA courses at the following colleges -
- 11 NITs located in Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), Agartala, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Warangal, Patna, and Sohra - Meghalaya

NIMCET 2026 Application Process
Candidates can apply for NIMCET 2026 only through the official website. The process involves:
- Registration – Visit https://www.nimcet.admissions.nic.in and register using name, email ID, and mobile number.
- Fill Application Form – Enter personal, academic, and contact details. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email.
- Upload Documents – Keep the following documents ready in soft copy:
- Passport-size photograph (50 KB – 1 MB)
- Signature in blue/black ink (50 KB – 1 MB)
- Self-attested mark sheets/certificates in PDF (max. 1 MB each)
- Valid ID proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving License) in PDF (max. 1 MB each)
- Pay Application Fee – Pay online through debit/credit card or net banking.
- General/OBC: INR 2,500 (approx.)
- SC/ST/PwD: INR 1,250 (approx.)
- Final Submission – Submit the form, download, and print the application confirmation page for records.

- Understand the syllabus: Cover all major areas – Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English in detail.
- Make a study plan: Allocate time for each subject, revise regularly, and spend extra time on topics that you find to be tough.
- Practice mock tests: Solve previous question papers and take up online mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.
- Focus on Mathematics: Since Math carries the highest weightage, you must focus on strengthening your concepts of essential topics like algebra, calculus, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, etc.

NIMCET 2026 Admit Card
Once the application phase of NIMCET is over, the NIMCET 2026 admit card will be available online on the official website. The NIMCET Admit Card can be downloaded using the user ID and password.

No, there is no age limit to apply for NIMCET, according to the NIMCET eligibility criteria as mentioned in the official information brochure of NIMCET.
