- While studying, the candidates should prepare notes so that they are able to revise important and difficult topics anytime, anywhere.
- Mock tests should be attempted regularly so that the candidates can assess their progress and improve their time management skills.
- Revision should be done daily so that the candidates do not forget what they have studied.

The time-period required to complete the NIMCET preparation depends on students. Every student has their own pace of study. Ideally, 3-4 month is good enough for completing the NIMCET preparation. Students who have started preparing during their BCA can easily prepare for NIMCET in 4 months considering the topics of exam syllabus have already been studied in BCA.
NIMCET preparation is most effective with BCA as almost 90-95 percent topics are similar in both exams. This way students can easily complete the entire NIMCET syllabus as well as syllabus of BCA. After the graduation exams, students get 2-3 month where they can focus entirely on NIMCET.
Students who have started late for the NIMCET exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in BCA. In the next two months’ focus on solving questions of NIMCET and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last one month should be focused on solving mock tests and NIMCET previous year question papers.
The difficulty level of NIMCET is normal. Here is the bifurcation-
- Computer awareness: BCA/B.Sc. IT level
- English, logical reasoning and Mathematics: Intermediate level
Please note that the questions in NIMCETs are tricky, and you will need to study in-depth. Go through the concepts and topics mentioned in the NIMCET syllabus to get a good score. Students who study NCERT and have a strong grasp of the basics can perform well in NIMCET.
NIMCET Exam Pattern
The NIMCET 2026 exam pattern will be released soon. According to the NIMCET exam pattern 2026, candidates can check the details of how the authorities will conduct the entrance examination. During the two-hour examination, the candidates will have to attempt 120 objective multiple-choice questions with one right aswer.

No. You cannot manually convert CGPA to percentage or vice-versa to qualify. If your university uses a 10-point scale, a 6.5 CGPA is the minimum requirement for General/OBC candidates.
