The authorities will release the NIMCET 2026 exam centres. The list of cities where the examination will be conducted can be checked through the NIMCET exam centres. While filling out the NIMCET 2026 application form, candidates would need to select their preferred exam cities in order of preference. The candidates will be able to choose three NIMCET exam cities in 2026. Since the preference will be considered when allotting NIMCET exam centres in 2026, candidates are advised to fill out their choices carefully. This usually happens when there are not enough participants for that particular centre. Authorities then cancel a NIMCET exam centre and allot the exam centre according to the next order of preference of the candidate, or the closest geographically available centre.

Q:   Is it mandatory for a candidate to meet all the requirements mentioned in the NIMCET eligibility criteria?
A: 

Yes. Candidates will need to meet all the requirements mentioned in the NIMCET eligibility criteria, which will be offiically announced by the authorities. Before NIMCET registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria. Ineligible candidates will not be considered for admission into the participating institutes. For admission, all candidates will have to qualify NIMCET.

Q:   How will I get to know about the availability of the NIMCET admit card?

You will get an email as well as an SMS notification about the release date of their admit cards. You will also receive updates to download it. All the candidates are required to print the NIMCET Admit Card on precision printers, only such as Laser Printers (and not on Inkjet printers). You are also advised to preserve the Admit Card (used during the examination) till the entire admission process is complete.

Q:   Will the exam authorities arrange for travel and accommodation if the NIMCET centre is not located in my city or state?
A: 

No, the NIMCET exam conducting authorities will not arrange for travel and accommodation, and it has to be done by the candidate or his/her family. Before the examination, the authorities advise the candidates to visit the exam centre and assess it so that they do not face any problems during the examination day. All candidates and their accompanying guardians will have to prepare their own trave and accomodation.

Q:   Can I change my allotted NIMCET centre after receiving the admit card?
A: 

No. Once an exam centre is allotted, it can't be changed. While filling the NIMCET application form, please cross-check and select the exam centres only if you are sure of the selected ones. However, in case of an emergency, you may request the authorities, but the final decision or discretion to change the exam centre will remain with them.

No. You cannot manually convert CGPA to percentage or vice-versa to qualify. If your university uses a 10-point scale, a 6.5 CGPA is the minimum requirement for General/OBC candidates.

Here is how you can determine if your NIMCET score is good -

Score Possible Rank What This Means 
360+Top 100Excellent: You can likely pick any top NIT you want, like the popular ones in Trichy or Warangal.
300 - 359101 - 500Very Good: You have a high chance of getting into a strong NIT.
240 - 299501 - 1500Good Goal: You can likely secure a spot in a mid-tier NIT.
Below 120Low ChancesDifficult: Getting a seat at any NIT is very unlikely with this score.

The NIMCET application edit window usually opens 2-3 days after the last day of application. Historically, it opens for 2 days within which applicants can make any edits in their application if required. Please note that no requests in this regard shall be entertained thereafter.
