NIELIT 2024 Exam: The NIELIT 2024 Theory exam for O/A/B/C levels is scheduled to be conducted on August 3, 2024. The exam datesheet will be announced later. Application started for the registered candidates of NIELIT for submission of the Online Examination Application Form (OEAF) for O/A/B/C level examinations. The NIELIT 2024 application form for registered candidates was released on April 22, 2024, and the last date for submission of the OEAF with the requisite fee for Direct and Institutes' candidates was May 15, 2024. Practical exam will commence on July 10, 2024. Candidates can check the detailed dates below. 

Due to some technical issues, the link for filling Online Examination Application Form (OEAF) for CHMT O Level (Theory & Practical) course for July 2024 has been deactivated till further update. Examination for Employability Skills (ES) will be conducted on July 24, 2024 and practical exam will commence on July 25, 2024.

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), (erstwhile DOEACC Society) is an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MoE&IT), Government of India. The authority released the NIELIT 2024 DLC (CCC/BCC/CCCP/ECC/ACC) June Cucle examination date at student.nielit.gov.in. The June cycle exam will be conducted from June 27 to June 30, 2024. What is NIELIT?

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Exam, or NIELIT Exam, is conducted at the national level by the institute itself as the exam conducting body. The NIELIT exam 2024 is conducted every year for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses under the titles as Non-Formal Courses - O Level, A Level, B Level and C Level. The NIELIT exam is being held twice a year, probably in January and July.

- The scheme will be applicable to the Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped and female candidates pursuing O/A/B/C level courses of the NIELIT (DOEACC) as a full-time course via an institute authorised to conduct the DOEACC-accredited courses.
- Also, candidates have to clear the papers in the first attempt and complete the courses in the number of attempts.
- The income of the parents of the student from all sources shall not be more than Rs 1 LPA

 

Q:   How many courses are offered at NIELIT Aurangabad?

A:

NIELIT Aurangabad offers BTech, Diploma, MTech, and certification programs to interested candidates. The admissions are made through the entrance exam. For BTech, JEE Main entrance exam is required, M.Tech admissions are made through the GATE entrance exam followed by CCMT counselling, however, admission to a Diploma can be made through merit upon meeting the NIELIT Aurangabad eligibility criteria. The institute offers BTech in Electronics System Engineering, Diploma in Electronics Production and Maintenance (DEPM), M.Tech in Electronics Design and Technology, and other certification programs.

NIELIT 2024 Application Process

Before filling out the Online Application Form (OEAF), the candidate needs to update his or her profile. This is a one time activity. Also, for the same, the candidate should be ready with the following:
- A valid registration number (name and DOB exactly as in the Registration Allocation cum Identity Card issued by NIELIT). 
- Personal Email ID of the candidate, not of the institute, for validations and future correspondence.
- Personal mobile number of the candidate, not of the institute, for validations and future correspondence.
- Clearly scanned latest passport-size photograph, signature &  LTI (Left Thumb Impression); all in jpeg format, size limited to 50 KB each.Once the candidate is ready, he or she may visit http://student.neilit.in/Index.aspx.  Candidates can also check below for details on the admissions process.

1. Create an account.
For the creation of an account, candidates need to click on the New User (registered candidate)  link provided in the top corner on the right hand side of the official website. The following screen will appear:
Step 1: Candidate Details Verification in which a candidate need to fill:

  • Current course (in which a candidate is registered)
  • Registration Number ( of the course selected above)
  • Name of the candidate
  • Date of Birth
  • Captcha Code

After filling out the above information, press the next button. The data will be verified, and then candidates will need to complete the next step.

Step 2:  Email ID & Mobile Number Verification

  • Candidate Name:
  • Enter Email Address
  • Enter Mobile Number

After filling out the above information, press the next button. A candidate will be asked to enter a user ID and create a password. Also, the candidate will be prompted to select a security question and enter the security answer, which will be used to recover the password, in case he or she forgets it in the future.

Step 3: User Creation

A screen will appear in which the below-mentioned information needs to be filled out by a candidate:

  • Candidate Name
  • User Name/Id
  • Create a new password.
  • Confirm the new password.
  • Security Question
  • Security Answer

After successful completion, the user ID and Password will be sent to the email address of the candidate. It is to be noted that account activation is mandatory to login to the Online Student Online Student Information and Enrolment System of NIELIT. Once the account is activated, candidates can click on the login page link. After a successful login, it will direct the candidate to the My Dashboard.

2. Update Profile

On the dashboard, a candidate may get the following notifications, depending on the details pertaining to their availability in records:

Check out the instructions below to complete your profile details. Scanned images properly for uploading. Ensure size and format too.

Step 1:  Upload Photograph, Signature & LTI

  • Upload Photograph (JPG,JPEG,GIF,PNG image with size up to 50 KB )
  • Upload Signature (JPG,JPEG,GIF,PNG image with size up to 50 KB )
  • Upload Left Hand Thumb Impression (JPG,JPEG,GIF,PNG image with size up to 50 KB)

After uploading, click on the preview. Make sure that all the details are displayed correctly. It is to be noted that once the details are updated, they cannot be modified. If sure, click on Update, and then go back to the Dashboard.

Step 2: Update Your Mobile Number

Click on the Please verify your Mobile Number link. An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the mobile number provided by the candidate. Enter the OTP number in the given box.

The OTP number must correspond to the OTP reference number, usually the latest SMS is the valid one. Click on Validate after putting the OTP number in the box. If a candidate did not receive any SMS for a reasonable time, he or she may click on the Resend button. Go to My Dashboard. Click on the link for updating candidates' Correspondence Address Details.

Step 3: Update Correspondence Address Details

After completing it go to My Dashboard.

Step 4: Update Personal Details

  • Father’s Name

After completing it, again go to My Dashboard.

Step 5: Lock Profile

If a candidate finds no pending profile notification, then lock the profile. Lock the profile only after ensuring that the details entered are correct and current. Note that once a candidate locks the profile, he or she cannot modify it any more. Further, unless a candidate lock his or her profile, he or she can not apply for any NIELIT Examination Online. After locking the profile, a full screen will display to check the whole profile once again. At the top of the right hand side, the "Lock Profile" button is there. 
It will display a full screen view of your profile. The top RHS candidate will get a “Lock Profile” button. Another page with a warning will be displayed, at the bottom of which a candidate will have to click the Confirm Lock button; to confirm that the details entered are correct and ready for locking. Still another message will ask a candidate for confirmation.

Step 6: Send Updated Profile Sheet

Once a candidate confirms the lock, preserve a copy of the same for future reference. Take a printout of the form from My Dashboard and submit the same along with support documents to:

3.  Fill the OEAF

Go to the Course tab. Click on Apply Online available on the right hand side boarder. On the screen the Online Examination Application Form (OEAF) will appear for the ongoing Examination. Please note that the field marked with is mandatory. It has five major points like: Exam Details, Exam Centre Details, Modules Appearing, Fee Details and Declaration. 

The candidate will be send an e-mail and SMS informing him the Application Number, which should be preserved for future use. Also the Candidate will be given a Demand Note Number with the fees to be paid.

4. Fee Payment

While filling the Examination Application Form, the candidate can opt to pay the applicable fees him/herself or opt that the Accredited Institute will pay the fee on his/her behalf. If the candidate has chosen to pay the fees him/herself, s/he has many alternatives with different Service Charges are available as under. It may be noted that the Service Charges are not included in the Total Fees that was calculated during the filling of the Form. It will be collected by the service provider separately from the Candidate.

To pay the fee, a candidate can choose CSC-SPV Service or through online payment service. 

Submission of Application Forms to NIELIT

Institutes that are authorized to conduct NIELIT courses need to submit the filled in online examination application forms. However, it shall be the responsibility of the institute to make sure that the same is verified by them and processed online, well before the cut-off date, as mentioned in above. Under no circumstances any request with respect to the late submission will be entertained and application(s) cannot be received and processed after the cut-off date.

Q:   Where will a student be able to appear for the theory examination?

A:

As we know, the NIELIT Examination Centres are spread all over the country. A list of the examination centres will be available once a candidate applies for the examination form online. It is to be remembered that before filling out the Online Application Form (OEAF), the candidate needs to update his or her profile. This is a one-time activity.

Q:   Is it necessary to fill out the OEAF? Or is there any provision for a physical examination application for NIELIT?

A:

Yes, it is compulsory to fill out the Online Examination Application Form (OEAF). There is no provision for offline or physical forms. Here to note is that the Physical Examination Application Form has been discontinued from the July 2013 Examination onwards.

 

Q:   I lost all the information due to a power outage while filling out the application form. How do I restore it?

A:

No, a candidate has to login again and fill out the online examination application form again. There is no provision for saving the information if, for any reason, a candidate is logged out. Before filling out a NIELIT application form, candidates should be ready with the following:

  • A valid registration number
  • Personal Email ID of the candidate, not of the institute, for validations and future correspondence.
  • Personal mobile number of the candidate, not of the institute, for validations and future correspondence.
  • Clearly scanned the latest passport-size photograph, signature, and LTI (Left Thumb Impression); all in jpeg format, size limited to 50 KB each.
 

NIELIT 2024 Exam: Eligibility Criteria

Check below the eligibility criteria for NEILIT Exam 2024.

Registration is a pre-requisite for candidates to appear in NIELIT 2024 O/A/B/C level examinations. At O/A/B/C levels, candidates can appear in any paper, in any order, if the subject has been covered in the institution running the accredited course and as mentioned on the application form. Candidates can directly appear in examinations if they satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to them. 

Examination Dates

Dates for the several activities connected with examinations will be announced via newspapers well in advance of the examinations, basically in the last week of February and August relevant to the July and January examinations. Those candidates who sit for the 'O' level course may appear in the first two modules of the 'O' level examination after six months of the commencement of the accredited course and in the remaining two modules after the completion of one year of the commencement of the accredited course.
Further, graduate candidates registered for an 'O' level course may appear in the examination for all modules in a single attempt.

Educational Qualification for NIELIT 2024 Exam

  • Candidates aspiring for NIELIT 2024 exam should have completed the 12th class from a recognised board for bachelor’s degree courses and bachelor’s degree for postgraduate degree courses from a recognised institute/university.
  • At O/A/B/C level exams of NIELIT, candidates can appear in any paper, in any order, if the subject has been covered in the institution running the accredited course and so endorsed on the application form. Direct candidates can appear in examinations if they satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to them.
  • Candidates undergoing 'O' level accredited course by NIELIT may appear in first two modules of 'O' level NIELIT examination after six months of the commencement of the accredited course and in the remaining two modules after the completion of one year of the commencement of the accredited course. This is subject to the condition that the subjects have been covered in the accredited course by the institute and so endorsed in the examination application forms as per format therein.
  • Graduate Candidates registered for 'O' level course may appear in NIELIT examination for all modules in a single attempt.
  • ​NIELIT Examinations are conducted across nearly 120 centres all over the country. The conduct of examinations at these centres is liable to change.
  • Candidates aspiring for NIELIT Exam 2024 have to choose primary centres and secondary centres. Examinations will be conducted at all the Primary Centres.
  • For the examination to be carried out at any of these Primary centres will depend upon the number of candidates and infrastructure available at these centres. In case of insufficient number of students or for any other administrative reasons, one or more of these primary centres may be cancelled by the exam conducting authority.
  • While filling application form for NIELIT Exam 2024, candidates who choose one of the secondary centres as a first choice in their forms for examinations are required to give a primary centre as a second choice.

 

Q:   What is the medium of the NIELIT examination?

A:

There is an option for the candidates to opt to write the answers (the descriptive portion only) in Hindi or English. The choice should be indicated therein. If the choice is not given, then the choice of English medium will be assumed. However, question papers would continue to be in English only.

 

Q:   How many papers can a student apply for in a single attempt in the NIELIT Exam?

A:

There is no specific number as such. However, at each level, a candidate needs to complete the papers within the stipulated period. At NIELIT O/A/B/C levels, candidates can appear in any paper, in any order, if the subject has been covered by the institution running the accredited course and as mentioned on the application form. Candidates can directly appear in examinations if they satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to them. 

 

NIELIT 2024: Medium of Examination (applicable only for 'O' level)

There is an option for the candidates to opt to write the answers (descriptive portion only) in Hindi or English. The choice should be indicated therein. If the choice is not given, then the choice of English medium will be assumed. However, question papers would continue to be in English only.

NIELIT 2024 Examination Fee

  • Examination fee for each module/paper of O/A/B/C level is Rs.500/- for each paper/module.
  • In addition an amount of Rs.100/- will be charged along with the examination fee towards processing fees.
  • Refund of fee - fees, once paid, will not be refunded or adjusted, under any circumstances.
  • If the examination fee paid does not cover the module(s) applied for, examination forms would reject.
  • Exam fee for Improvement after qualifying all papers of the level is Rs.1000/- for one paper
  • SC/ST candidates are eligible for refund of examination fee after they clear all the modules/papers relating to an examination, namely O/A/B/C. Such candidates should apply along with the attested photocopies of: -

                               i) Proof of belonging to SC/ST
                              ii) Result sheet of NIELIT examination

NIELIT 2024 Exam: Admit Card

Those candidates who are found eligible will be issued NIELIT admit cards before the commencement of the examination. For those candidates, only the admit card is issued to those who are admitted to the NIELIT examination. A timetable containing details including dates of examination, examination timing or session, sequence of papers, and instructions to candidates is also published along with the admit cards. It is recommended for the candidates to verify all the details. 
Those candidates who may not have been able to view their admit or identity cards mostly by June 31 or December 31 for January/July examinations, respectively, may check their roll numbers from the website www.nielit.in by entering their login credentials.
It is also important for a candidate to report to the relevant examination centres along with the printout of the admit card. They will be allowed to appear in the examination after verification of their identity, for which a necessary arrangement exists at each examination centre.

 

Q:   Is the NIELIT CCC course more advanced than the O level?

A:

NIELIT O level is a slightly more advanced-level programme than CCC. It is a one-year Diploma programme that teaches about computer Science and engineering. It is almost like a Polytechnic Diploma and is a bit harder. In this course, students are taught about programming, multimedia, ICT things, etc. The NIELIT CCC programme is a certificate course. In this, only the basic computer understandings test is conducted, including information regarding hardware, software, number systems, spread sheets, word processors, etc.

 

Q:   What can a candidate do in case the institute is closed or accreditation is withdrawn?

A:

The institutes are supposed to submit the list of candidates once it is withdrawn or closed. In such cases, the candidate's name should be on the list provided by the institute, which will then allow the candidate to sit in the examinations.

 

Q:   How can a candidate get NIELIT Admit Card?

A:

It is recommended that the information related to the NIELIT admit card be available on the official website at student.nielit.gov.in approximately two weeks before the examinations. Also, a candidate can download it from the NIELIT website.

 

NIELIT 2024 Exam: Result

The results of the NIELIT 2024 January cycle O/A/B/C levels was published on the official website. Result was announced in the form of grades and sent to the candidates and also to institutes conducting accredited courses, from where candidates have to appear for examinations.   • Retotalling of marks for any of the module/paper can be requested in the specified pro forma within one month from the date of the result sheet along with a fee of INR 200/- per module/paper.
  • On successful completion of the modules or papers and of the project, the candidates are awarded certificates / diplomas by NIELIT.
  • 'B' level candidates on successful completion of first ten papers common to 'A' level and of the first project, are awarded Advanced Diploma as are being issued to 'A' level successful candidates.
  • Results of O, A, B & C Levels will also be available in the NIELIT Website.

  • Candidate will see the "View Result" link in the window.

Q:   What is the minimum mark required to qualify for the modules of the NIELIT O/A/B and C-level examinations?

A:

To qualify for the NIELIT O/A/B and C levels, a candidate requires 50% marks in each module. The results of the NIELIT 2024 January Cycle O/A/B/C levels has been published on the official website. Results is announced in the form of grades and sent to the candidates and also to institutes conducting accredited courses, from where candidates have to appear for examinations. 

 

NIELIT 2024 Examination Centres

The examination will be conducted at around 120 centres across the country. The conduct of the examinations at these centres is liable to change. Examination centres are classified as primary and secondary centres. Examinations will be conducted at all the primary centers. For the examination to be carried out at any of these primary centres, it will depend on the number of candidates and the infrastructure available at these centres. It is possible that one or more of these primary centres may be cancelled if there are not sufficient numbers of candidates or for any other administrative reasons.
Those candidates who choose one of the secondary centres as a first choice in their application forms for examinations are required to give a primary centre as a second choice.
 

Q:   How many zones are there in the NIELIT Examination Centres?

A:

NIELIT exam centres are divided into five Zones, namely the North Zone, North-East Zone, East Zone, South Zone, and West Zone. The examination will be conducted at around 120 NIELIT centres across India. The NIELIT exam centres are divided into Primary and Secondary centres. The exam will be held at all Primary centres. The exam centres depend on the number of candidates appearing in the exam. Also, it is to be noted that if a candidate chooses one of the secondary centres as their first choice in their application form, they will get a primary centre as a second choice. The NIELIT 2024 registrations for the January cycle were concluded. The NIELIT 2024 theory exam will commence on January 13, 2024
