COVID-19 or Corona Virus is spreading all over the world including India. Most of the countries have announced Lockdown or Emergency as a matter of precaution and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Due to it, the students are not able to go to college, and thus, their studies suffer. The college has taken various steps to minimise the loss of study of students.

Some of the steps initiated by the college are:

  1. Online Classes: The college has initiated online classes for the students in order to complete the syllabus as per the curriculum. The frequency of these classes is on a daily basis. The college also provides the facility of doubt sessions in order to clear the concepts of the students. Moreover, the timing of these classes is decided on the basis of convenience of the majority of the students. Also, the students are free to ask their doubts via various mediums i.e. phone call, Whatsapp group or by Chatbox in the Zoom app.
  2. Projects or Assignments: To check the understanding of the students, the faculty members provide various projects as well as assignments to the students which are required to submit online at the specified time. The credits of these projects and assignments are calculated in the final grade.
  3. Mentoring of students: The college has created small groups of the students on the basis of their roll number and has assigned a faculty member to each group. The faculty of each group is responsible to enquire the students about their health, education or any other problem that they may have. This initiative provides support to the students to talk about their health or other issues and also remove the problem of loneliness during this lockdown.
  4. Arrangement of Notes and Study Material: The faculty also provide notes and possible study material to the students for the reason that there is no interruption in the studies of the students due to lack of books or other study material. It also helps the students to make productive use of this time.

It is true to say that the college is trying its best to adapt all the maximum possible approach for a consistent flow of knowledge and support to the students so that the loss of study due to pandemic can be minimised, but the effectiveness all the resources and efforts depends upon the utilisation of all these initiatives by the students.
