Karnataka State Law University, recognised by the UGC, is the the largest affiliating law university in Asia, and provides affiliation to 127 law colleges across the state of Karnataka.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of PU BA LLB / BCom LLB entrance exam?
A:

The Panjab University BA LLB (Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws) and BCom LLB (Bachelor of Commerce Bachelor of Laws) entrance exams have a similar exam pattern. These exams are conducted by Panjab University for admission to their 5-year integrated law programs. Below is the typical exam pattern for the PU BA LLB and BCom LLB entrance exams:

Exam Mode: The PU BA LLB and BCom LLB entrance exams are usually conducted in offline mode, which means pen and paper-based tests.

Duration: The duration of the entrance exam is usually 90 minutes (1.5 hours).

Type of Questions: The question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question is followed by four answer options, and candidates are required to select the correct answer.

Number of Questions: The total number of questions in the exam will be 100.

Subjects/Sections: The exam consists of multiple sections, which will include: General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law, Mental Ability and English Language.

Q:   How do I apply for admission to B.A LL.B (H) course at TNNLU?
A:

Application Process for BA- LLB (Hons) at TNNLU is suject to the CLAT 2025 application process, which is conducted in online mode. Follow the steps for the application process:

  1. Registration - The candidate could register by entering their name, mobile number, and email id. Also, select and confirm a password for the newly created applicant account. 
  2. Login - Log in to access the application form.  
  3. Select the programme of study - After logging in, the first thing was to select the programme of study 5-year LLB or one-year LLB
  4. Fill the form - There were different fields like personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences (THREE centres can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation. All fields needed to be filled. Check what all documents were needed to be uploaded in the prescribed specification (refer to the table below). 
In order to secure admission to the top law colleges in India , candidates need to appear in the law entrance exams. For example, admission to the NLUs is conducted through CLAT; the only exception is NLU Delhi which conducts its own law entrance exam i.e. AILET. Likewise, there are state-level law entrance exams like MH CET law (for admission to 5-year and 3-year LLB courses in the state of Maharashtra), and TS LAWCET ( conducted for admission to 3-year and 5-year law courses in the state of Telangana).

CLAT Exam

The consortium of NLUs conducts the law entrance exam for admission to 5-year integrated LLB course, and one-year LLM course offered by the 24 participating NLUs. AILET Exam 

The only law entrance exam in India conducted and accepted by the NLU Delhi. The UG and PG courses offered at NLU Delhi are BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. Candidates could apply for AILET in online mode. 

  • Exam timings - 10 am - 11.30 am
  • Subjects - English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning, and Mathematics
  • Total questions - 150 questions

SLAT or SET Law

The law entrance exam, SLAT is conducted by SIU Pune - Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to undergraduate courses offered at its four law schools in Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur and SLS Noida

MH CET Law Exam 

The entrance exam is conducted for five-year integrated LLB as well as three-year LLB courses offered at the Maharashtra state universities and law colleges. The law entrance exam is conducted at a state level by the Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) Maharashtra. As per the exam pattern of MHCET Law, the exam is held in computer-based test mode for two hours. Know key features of MHCET Law as under:
