IIM Ahmedabad Placements 2023: BCG and McKinsey & Company Make Maximum Offers

IIM Ahmedabad placements 2023 concluded recently with MBA batch of 2021-23 getting placed at top MNCs in various roles across domains.

IIM Ahmedabad follows a cluster system (three clusters) of final placements process where different sectors are invited in cohorts. Cluster 1 was conducted on February 14, Cluster 2 was conducted on February 17 and Cluster 3 was conducted on February 20, 2023.

In Cluster 1 of the IIM Ahmedabad placements 2023, companies from five cohorts participated in the final placement process. The five cohorts are investment banking & markets, management consulting, niche consulting, cards and financial advisory and private equity, venture capital & asset management.

 “We saw a large pool of recruiters, with about 50 firms participating in the process. McKinsey & Company was the top recruiter with 18 offers, followed by Boston Consulting Group. Other prominent recruiters in the consulting domain included regular recruiters such as Bain & Company, Kearney, Oliver Wyman, Strategy& Middle East, Monitor Deloitte, Praxis Global Alliance, Arthur D Little, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG,” said IIM Ahmedabad in an official statement.

IIM Ahmedabad Placements 2023: Highlights

Prominent recruiters in the Investment Banking and Markets space included Goldman Sachs, Avendus Capital, Arpwood Capital, Standard Chartered, HSBC, O3 Capital, and Credit Suisse.

In the PE and VC domain, companies such as A91 Partners, Premji Invest, Pinpoint, Morgan Stanley (Real Estate), and American Express rolled out job offers.

In this cohort, Emaar rolled out three international offers. The other cohorts included firms like Airtel, BLS International Services Limited, Alkem Laboratories Limited, Samsung Electronics, and Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited, among others. The consumer goods and durables cohort saw regular recruiters like Asian Paints, The Coca-Cola Company, Loreal, Kimberly Clark, and Wipro Consumer Care. The conglomerate cohort recruiters were Adani Group, Aditya Birla Group, CK Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, Piramal Group, Bajaj Finserv and JSW One Platforms Limited.

Cluster 2 of IIM Ahmedabad final placements 2023 comprised five cohorts- conglomerates, consumer goods and durables, consumer services, pharma and healthcare and retail B2B and B2C. These Conglomerate firms extended the highest number of offers, closely followed by firms belonging to the consumer goods and durables cohort.

Regular recruiters such as Asian Paints, The Coca-Cola Company, Loreal, Kimberly Clark, and Wipro Consumer Care, Adani Group, Aditya Birla Group, CK Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, Piramal Group, Bajaj Finserv and JSW One Platforms Limited made offers to PGP graduates.

Cluster 3 of IIM Ahmedabad placement process 2023 witnessed the participation of many new recruiters across cohorts, including cult.fit, Finarb Consulting, and Javis. The BFSI cohort rolled out the second-highest offers. Cluster 3 comprised eight cohorts, which included Analytics and IT Consulting, BFSI, Consumer Tech, Core Manufacturing and Infrastructure, Enterprise Tech, Education Tech, Logistics, and Government Enterprises.

According to the official statement released by the b school, the entire IIM Ahmedabad placement process was conducted in hybrid mode. Companies had the convenience of conducting the process virtually or physically.

IIM Ahmedabad Placements 2022: Highlights

The audited report of IIM Ahmedabad placements 2022, released by the Indian Placements Reporting Standards (IPRS) reveals that the average salary offered to the PGP/MBA batch 2020-22 stood at INR 32.79 lakh per annum. The highest salary offered stood at INR 61.48 lakh per annum, while the highest international salary offer stood at INR 1.15 crore per annum. The average international salary offer stood at INR 88.91 lakh per annum.

Out of a total of 374 job offers, 9 were made for overseas locations which included cities such as Amsterdam, Dubai, UAE and Hong Kong. All international offers were made in Consulting, Finance, Marketing & Sales and General Management.

IIM Ahmedabad placement process 2022 was conducted in two stages. The first was the laterals process where firms interviewed students with prior work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions. In the second stage, participating firms were grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts were invited to campus across different clusters. About 59% of the batch was eligible for lateral placements, which provided students an opportunity to optimally leverage their work experience.
