LPU NEST 2017: MBA registration process

Admission process on

Lovely Professional University conducts a common entrance test LPU NEST (National Entrance and Scholarship Test) for admissions to its various UG and PG courses. Interested candidates can apply online.

LPU NEST is not only an entrance test for admission but it also provides an opportunity to aspirants to avail scholarship.

Here, we explain the admission process of admission to LPU’s MBA courses.

Lovely Professional University, recognized by the University Grant Commission, offers the following Master of Business Administration courses:

Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate should be a Graduate (or equivalent) in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate.
• The candidates who have a valid CAT/MAT/XAT score is eligible for admission through Interview only. They are not required to appear for LPU NEST.
• Candidates who have scored 60% or above in Graduation, they can seek admission by directly appearing for the interview.

Application process:

Aspiring candidates can apply for LPU NEST both offline and online. For offline application, the candidates will have to purchase the prospectus and form from LPU office.

Below are the steps to apply offline:

The candidates can purchase the form from University Campus or Camp Offices by paying Rs 10000 (Rs 9100 for tuition fee and Rs 900 for prospectus) or a demand draft of the same amount in favour of Lovely Professional University payable at Jalandhar.

Read the prospectus carefully and fill the form.

Provide a valid email ID in the section as the admit card will be mailed to the candidate on the same.

Paste a recent passport sized photo of yours on the form. The photo must bear your name and address at the back.

The candidates are advised to fill the form completely as incomplete for will be rejected. The duly filled form should be submitted in person by either at the Admission Office at the University Campus, Phagwara Punjab or at the camp offices.

The students can also submit their forms through post. The forms must reach before the last date at the following address:

Mention “Application for LPUNEST-2017” and “Programme Applied for (i.e MBA)” on the backside of the sealed envelope.

Online:

• To apply online, the candidates must register themselve on the official website of LPU
• Log on to the official website and click on ‘register’ tab. Enter required details to obtain application number.
• Login through application number to access the application form.
• Fill the application form and take a print out of the same in A4 size.
• Book your exam slot.
• Paste your passport size photograph on the form and send it through mail to the aforesaid address along with a DD of Rs Rs 10,000 in favour of Lovely Professional University payable at Jalandhar.
• Remember to write on the back of the Demand Draft your Name and “Application for LPUNEST-2016” and “Programme Applied for (i.e MBA).
• The candidates are advised to keep a photocopy of the filled in form and DD for future reference.
• In case of making online payment through debit/credit card or internet banking, the candidates will be required to upload a soft copy of their passport sized photo while filling up the form.

Exam slot booking:

The aspirants can book their exam slots either by themselve or ask the university to do it for them. Incase the student want to book it, he/she will have to do it online three days before the day he/she wants to take the exam. For exam slot booking, a copy of their application form and online test booking password will be needed.

Incase the candidate decides to let the university book the exam slot, he/she will be required to specify 5 dates as choice of exam date. The university will allot the time and exam venue according to the availability. The student will be notified about the exam slot through email, well in advance.

Exam slot booking will commence on November 15, 2016, and is on first come first served basis.

Admit Cards:

The admit cards will be emailed to the candidates on their registered email IDs.

• The admit card will have the candidate’s name, roll number, photo, admit card number, test date, time-slot and venue printed on it. In case of any discrepancy the candidate is advised to contact the program coordinator.
• The admit card is an important document to be presented at the examination hall. The candidates must carry another photo identity proof like, Passport/Aadhar card/Driving License/Voter ID card/PAN card or School/College ID card.
• The candidates are advised to preserve the admit card till the end of admission process.

Syllabus and test pattern:

Candidates appearing for LPU NEST must prepare the following subjects in order to clear the exam.

The entrance test is of 90 minutes, consisting of 70 multiple choice questions. Marks distribution is as follows:

Admission process:

Admission is granted to candidates either through the entrance exam and interview or only interview, as mentioned above. After the exam and interview rounds are completed, the university will issue the list of selected candidates. The candidates will have to be present in person at the time of admission.

Fees:

Fee MBA program is Rs 99,500/- Per Semester and for MBA (Hons) Rs 1,14, 500/- per semester.

Scholarships:

The candidates who wish to avail scholarship, they can apply for the same in the following category:

• Scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST
• Scholarship on the basis of percentage in qualifying exam.
• Scholarship on the basis of CAT/MAT/XAT
• Scholarship on the basis of Performance in sports, cultural and co-curricular activities and social service bravery awards
