TISSNET 2023 first merit list for admission to MA Programmes has been announced at admissions.tiss.edu. Earlier, TISSNET 2023 results were declared at admissions.tiss.edu. Candidates who appeared for the TISSNET 2023 exam scheduled on February 25, 2023 could check their results by entering their TISS login credentials on the official website- admissions.tiss.edu. The scorecard includes candidates’ names, registration number, qualifying status, TISSNET score and TISSNET cut off. The cutoff for the MBA and other PG programmes has been announced

What after TISSNET 2023 Result?

After the declaration of the result, TISS will invite qualified candidates to appear in the online assessment round. Only those candidates who feature in the TISSNET cut off list will be called for the selection rounds. The final selection for admission will be based on the candidate’s overall performance in TISSNET 2023 and Online Assessment rounds. 

Online Assessment and Online Personal Interview

Online Assessment and Online Personal Interview is a crucial part of the TISSNET selection process. The OA and OPI round will be conducted in online mode. The online PI was introduced in 2021 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and the exam authorities have decided to retain the mode. Here you can expect questions about your profile, preferred course and reasons for opting for that course. The interviewers will judge you based on your interpersonal skills, thinking process, future goals and communication skills.

Final Merit List Computation

The final selection of candidates or the final merit list will be computed on the basis of the revised admission process. Authorities will release the admission process for TISSNET 2023 tentatively in April 2023. The following table brings the weightage assigned to each parameter.

Tie-breaker in TISSNET result

In cases where two or more candidates obtain the same marks and creating the merit list becomes difficult, TISS simplifies the process by bringing in the tie-breaker. This involves a comparison of marks at different levels as mentioned below:

  • The marks obtained in the Personal Interview will be compared. If the marks obtained by both the candidates in the PI round are equal, the marks secured in the Pre-Interview Test (PIT) will be taken into account
  • If PIT marks are also equal, the entrance score will be compared
  • If the scores are equal again, the candidate older in age will be given preference over the younger candidate.

TISSNET 2023 Expected Cut Off

Q: What is the cutoff score of TISSNET for MA in HRM?

A: Tata Institute of Social Sciences have announced the TISSNET 2023 cutoff along with the announcement of results. TISS offers M.A. In HRM programme which is equivalent to MBA programme offered by other top B-schools. TISSNET cutoff for M.A. In Human Resource Management (HRM) is 63 marks for general category and 60 for EWS category. Previous year the cutoff for M.A. In HRM was 67 for the general category. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria were shortlisted for the TISS Online Assessment rounds. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria does not guarantee admission to the desired programme. A: DAF or Detail Application Form is filled by the candidates who are shortlisted for the TISSNET selection process- Online Assessments. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria for the programme applied will have to fill the DAF when released. Authorities released the TISS Detail Application Form for TISSNET 2023 on March 29. Shortlisted candidates could fill the DAF online. To fill the DAF candidates were required to visit the official website and click on the link provided. Q: When will TISS admission process begin?

A: Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducts the TISSNET selection process soon after the declaration of results. The TISSNET admission process for the 2023-24 session commenced on April 13 and ended on May 06, 2023 Candidates who appeared for the TISSNET exam and qualified for the cutoff criteria were shortlisted for the TISS Online Assessment rounds. The Online Assessment of TISS consists of Personal Interviews and Extempore rounds. To appear for the OA rounds, shortlisted candidates must compulsorily filled the Detail Application Form (DAF) on or before the prescribed last date. On the basis of the applications received, candidates are assigned the date on which they have to appear for the OA rounds. The OA rounds are conducted in online mode via the Zoom application. It is conducted for a duration of 20-30 minutes by the three-panel members. The aim of OA rounds is to assess the candidate's interest in the selected programme. The final selection is then based on the candidate's performance in the TISSNET exam (50%) and Online Assessments (Extempore (20%) and PI (30%). .

Q: Can I request a re-evaluation of TISSNET result?

A: Candidates who have appeared for the TISSNET exam will not be able to apply for the score re-evaluation. TISS releases the TISSNET question paper and answer key soon after the exam is conducted. On the basis of the challenges received, final answer key along with the TISSNET result and candidate's response sheet is released. Candidates will not be able to apply for re-evaluation of marks soon after the declaration of results. TISSNET score is an aggregation of marks score with every correct answer. There is no provision for negative marking in TISSNET exam.

A: The TISSNET cutoff for MA in Human Resource Management for various categories varies every year. The cutoff for TISSNET is released on the basis of number of seats, the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, category and difficulty level of the exam. To qualify for the TISSNET 2023 exam candidates were required to meet the cutoff criteria mentioned in the scorecard. Q: What is the process after TISSNET result declaration?

A: After the declaration of TISSNET result, the institute shortlists the candidates on the basis of the cutoff released. Candidates who qualify the cutoff criteria will have to fill the Detail Application Form to appear for the Online Assessment rounds- Extempore and Online Personal Interview . In DAF, candidates will be required to enter the personal, academic and professional details along with the reasons to pursue the course. Depending upon the DAF received, candidates are assigned the Online Assessment dates and have to appear for the selection process via Zoom application. The online assessment rounds are conducted in April-May. On the basis of the candidate's overall performance, they are shortlisted for the final admission to TISS campus.

Q: How is TISSNET aggregate score calculated for final admission?

A: Candidates' aggregate score is calculated on the basis of the TISSNET score and performance in Online Assessment rounds. Candidates will be given final weightage on the basis of which the seats will be offered. As per the TISS notification, the weightage for each round is as follows:
Stage 1: TISSNET exam: It will be center-based objective-type test with a maximum of 100 marks. The weightage for the TISSNET exam is final computation will be 50 percent.
Stage 2: Online Assessments: OA round will be divided into two components: Extempore and Online Interview. In the extempore round candidates will have to give a reflection on a given topic. The extempore is for 100 marks and carries the weightage of 20 percent. Whereas Personal Interview will also be of 100 marks and will carry a weightage of 30 percent.

As per the TISSNET 2023 analysis, TISSNET English Proficiency section consisted of 30 questions similar to last year. This section was dominated by Fill in the Blanks questions. There were no questions from Analogy, Onw Word Substitution and Idioms. This section covered the questions from the following areas: Para jumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Summary, Spot the Errors, Synonyms, and Reading Comprehension.
