Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Signs MoU with Global Cyber University

HITS has signed a three-year MoU with South Korea's GCU for "Brain Education Meditation" courses, promoting cultural exchanges and establishing a global brain education centre in India.
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) has strengthened its global partnerships with a renewed and expanded MoU with South Korea's Global Cyber University (GCU). The signing ceremony, held at the Apgujeong Seoul Learning Centre, extends their collaboration beyond the original credit exchange for "Brain Education Meditation" courses. The new three-year agreement now includes wider cultural exchanges and plans to establish a global brain education centre in India.
The agreement, signed between GCU President Gong Byeong-yeong and HITS Chancellor Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, builds upon a successful partnership initiated in December 2020, marking a significant milestone in Indo-Korean educational collaboration. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor of HITS, said," Our journey with Global Cyber University since 2020 has been remarkable, demonstrating how international collaboration can create meaningful impact in education and humanitarian efforts. The establishment of a global brain education center in India represents our commitment to bringing cutting-edge educational approaches to our students."
President Gong Byeong-yeong of Global Cyber University said, "I hope that the two universities can actively engage in more advanced exchange activities such as joint seminars on the direction of higher education in Korea and India in the AI era, sustainable Earth and the future of humanity, in addition to the credit exchanges."
This strengthened partnership comes at a pivotal time with K-culture’s rising popularity in India. The collaboration has already shown its impact through initiatives like joint international conferences on the future of education during the COVID-19 pandemic and humanitarian support during India’s second wave in 2021.
During their visit, the HITS delegation also explored the K-pop promotion centre ‘POP-KON’ and the iconic Ilchi Art Hall, known for hosting BTS’ debut showcase - underscoring the cultural depth of this alliance. This collaboration marks a major advancement in academic partnerships and cultural exchange between India and South Korea.
