The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur hosted the 4th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand State Council meeting. The event brought together key industry leaders and academic experts to foster collaboration and drive growth and development across sectors in Uttarakhand and the Northern Region. CII-Uttarakhand, established at the state's inception, operates as a state-level industry body under the larger CII national framework. These meetings, held periodically on a rotational basis, serve as a platform to address the challenges and opportunities facing the state's industrial sector.
Prof. Somnath Chakrabarti, Director-in-Charge, IIM Kashipur underscored the significance of continuous interactions and said “We are happy to welcome the industry and it’s delegates to the campus. We want to deepen and broaden the ties between industry and IIM Kashipur.”
Kanishk Jain, Chairman CII -Uttarakhand said, “IIM joining the CII fold and becoming active is a shot in the arm for industry in Uttarakhand which is poised for growth. Industry looks towards institutions to support and collaborate with industry in numerous ways.”
“IIM Kashipur offers various Management Development Programs for training of executives of Industry and also in-company programs which benefit the industry immensely” said Prof. Kunal Ganguly, Dean (Development), IIM Kashipur shared while emphasising the importance of industry-academia collaboration.
The Director of IIM Kashipur emphasised several opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions, highlighting potential areas for mutual growth and development. Monika Dembla, Airport Director of Pantnagar Airport, engaged with industry representatives, offering an update on the airport’s proposed expansion. She addressed various questions raised by the industrialists and outlined the ongoing developments, underscoring the potential benefits of the expansion in enhancing regional connectivity.
The meeting concluded positively, with participants committing to collaborate in building a vibrant and prosperous Uttarakhand. Industry leaders, government officials, and academic representatives vowed to strengthen partnerships by pooling their expertise to drive sustainable development across key sectors. The shared objective is to unlock the region's full potential, fostering new opportunities for growth, innovation, and economic prosperity. This commitment marks the beginning of a stronger synergy between stakeholders, aiming to position Uttarakhand as a model of inclusive economic progress.
