UPCATET 2026 offline counselling registration is ongoing. Candidates can register for counselling process and pay counselling fee from September 9 to September 11, 2026. The tentative seat availability for offline counselling has also been released on the official website. 

UPCATET 2026 offline counselling schedule in detail will be released soon on the official portal. Candidates should complete their UPCATET counselling registration and fee payment before last date. The UPCATET 2026 exams were conducted on June 17 and 18.

What is UPCATET?

The UPCATET is a state-level entrance exam which is conducted once a year to select candidates for Agriculture and some technical courses. The participating universities in the UPCATET exam are Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur; Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut; Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda, etc.

UPCATET 2026 Counselling

UPCATET 2026 counselling is being conducted for admission to agricultural and technology universities in Uttar Pradesh. The offline UPCATET counselling registration and fee payment process for UG, Master’s and PhD programmes is scheduled from September 9 to September 11, 2026. Candidates can register for counselling through the official UPCATET website. The complete counselling schedule will be released soon.

The authorities have also released the tentative seat matrix for UG, Master’s and PhD offline counselling.

UPCATET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

UPCATET 2026 eligibility criteria can vary. It depends on the course selected by the candidate. Candidates must check the required subjects, educational qualification, and age limit before applying for exam. The course wise eligibility criteria for BSc and BFSc programmes are given below.

BSc (Honours) Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with any of the following subject combinations:

  • Agricultural Science
  • Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)
  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM)
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB)

Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc)

Candidates applying for BFSc must have passed Class 12 with any of the following subjects:

  • Agricultural Science
  • Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB)

BSc (Honours) Home Science 

Candidates must have passed Class 12 in Arts stream with Home Science or with PCB, PCM, PCMB or Agricultural Science. As per the official eligibility rules, only female candidates can apply for BSc (Honours) Home Science programme.

UPCATET 2026 Age Limit

Candidates must meet age limit as of December 31, 2026. Candidates must be more than 16 years and less than 22 years old for most UG courses.

For the BVSc and AH programme, candidates must be at least 17 years old and not more than 25 years old as of December 31, 2026.

Candidates from SC, ST and OBC categories are eligible for a 5 year relaxation in the upper age limit.

UPCATET 2026 Application Form

UPCATET 2026 application form was available online only through official application portal. The application dates were not extended by the Banda University of Agriculture and Technology. Candidates were required to complete the registration, application form and fee payment within the deadline.

The application fee was INR 1,350 for General, OBC (Male) and EWS candidates. Female candidates from the UR, OBC, SC and ST categories, as well as SC/ST candidates, were required to pay INR 1,100 without any late fee.

  • Go to upcatetexam.org.
  • Click on 'New Registration'.
  • Read the instructions and click on 'I Agree'.
  • Enter name, mobile number and email ID.
  • Enter Class 12 and more education details.
  • Click on Submit.
  • The registration number and password will be created.
  • Log in with registration number and password.
  • Fill in the remaining details in form.
  • Upload all the required documents.
  • At last, pay the application fee and submit the UPCATET 2026 application form.

UPCATET 2026 Syllabus, Pattern & Preparation

The UPCATET exam is conducted once every year to select the candidates for the undergraduate courses offered by the participating universities. The candidates must understand that the syllabus, exam pattern and the previous year's question papers are the three most important components of preparation.   • The University mention that the Class XI and XII syllabus of UP Board will be considered as the syllabus of UPCATET
  • The main subjects of the UPCATET UG exam are Maths, general studies, chemistry, biology, and physics
  • The core Agriculture courses are Animal Husbandry, Agronomy, Botany, Horticulture, and Chemistry.

UPCATET Exam Pattern 2026

  • There are 200 MCQ-type questions in the exam.
  • Each question carries 4 marks 
  • For a wrong answer, you get minus 1 mark, and for a right answer, you get 4 marks.
  • The duration of the exam is three hours. 
  • The UPCATET Exam language is Hindi and English.

The candidates are suggested to prepare all the topics given in the syllabus because the University does not provide the weightage of the topics. In addition to that, the candidates must have conceptual clarity of the Physics topic because they find it most difficult.

UPCATET 2026 Admit Card

The UPCATET Admit Card was released on June 6. The candidates can download it through their registration number and date of birth. The candidates will be required to show their admit card at the examination centre to get entry. The candidates will be required to carry one photo identity card with them and show it to the exam officials when asked for.

UPCATET 2026 Result

The UPCATET 2026 result was released on June 30, 2026. The candidates checked their result in the following manner:

  • Go to upcatetexam.org
  • Log in with User-Id/Registration Number and password
  • Check the UPCATET Result and download it for future reference
  • The result consists of information like total marks, percentile, and cutoff marks. 

Students should keep a PDF file and a hard copy of their hall ticket, it bring it on the day of the exam.

UPCATET 2026 Cutoff

UPCATET 2026 cut off refers to minimum qualifying marks required to be eligible for the merit list and counselling process. For UPCATET 2026, candidates from General and OBC categories need to secure at least 20% marks. SC and ST candidates need to secure at least 10% marks.

But only meeting minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee admission. Candidates are shortlisted for counselling based on their UPCATET rank, merit position, category, course and seat availability. The admission cutoff can vary for different courses, universities and counselling rounds.

UPCATET Analysis

UPCATET 2026 exam analysis was moderate in difficulty, according to feedback from students and exam experts. Candidates found some questions easy, while others were comparatively difficult but manageable. The paper included conceptual questions based on the prescribed syllabus. Chemistry was reported to be easy, while Mathematics and Physics were moderate in the PCM group.

Students who appeared for the PCB paper reported that questions were largely based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus. Overall, candidates found the time available for the exam sufficient to attempt the paper. UPCATET 2026 exam consisted of multiple-choice questions.

Q:   What are the ways to prepare for UPCATET exam?
A: 

Check out the following points to know relevant strategies while preparing for the UPCATET entrance exam

  • Include main subjects and topics from the NCERT books.
  • Use objective‑type MCQ books to practise daily. 
  • Select the preferred groups out of PCB, PCM, PAG, PHS and solve last year's UPCATET question papers. 
  • Practice OMR sheets because the UPCATET exam is held offline.

Q:   What is structure of UPCATET Question paper?
A: 

UPCATET consist of a total of four groups: PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS. Every group includes 200 MCQs. The exam is 3 hours. The total UPCAET exam is assessed for 800 marks. The courses are assigned based on the group that students choose.

Q:   What is the UPCATET syllabus?
A: 

UPCATET syllabus consists of Class 11 and 12 topics of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Agriculture, and Home Science.

The UPCATET Syllabus is also based on the paper group selected by the students, like PCB/PCM/PAG/PHS. The NCERT is suggested for all Science subjects.

Q:   Is there any eligibility criteria to apply UPCATET exam?
A: 

There are different eligibility criteria decided by the exam conducting authorities whcih includes both age as well as education for UG courses. There is no age limit for PG and PhD courses.  

For BVSC & H course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidate need to be 17 and 25 by December 31While for all other course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidates need to be 16 and 22 by December 31

Note: Person with Disability (PwD) will be given a relexation of 5 years in upper age limit.  

Q:   What is the application fees to fill the UPCATET Exam form?
A: 

The UPCATET application fee is required to be paid after filling out the form. otherwise the form will not be accepted by the authorities. Every year, the updated fee structure is given in the UPCATET 2026 notification. But according to the previous year's information, male students who belong to the General & OBC categories have to pay INR 1350. Other students, both male and female, have to pay INR 1100 application fees. 

The application fees need to be paid online via Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, etc. Once the fee is paid, students are required to download the receipt of fees. 

Q:   What to do the after declaration of results of UPCATET?
A: 

Applicants who qualify the UPCATET exam for the respective courses for which they have applied further need to appear in counselling. Applicants need to join counselling process possess the following items i.e Mobile phone, email id, date of birth, roll number and scanned copy of documents. 

The process of counselling includes registration, choice filling, seat allotment, uploading of document, document verification, dowloading of allotment letter and last admission process of the allotted universities.

 

Q:   What are the important things to know before applying for UPCATET 2026?
A: 

Before applying, candidates must ensure the following points:

  • Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to be eligible to appear for the UPCATET Exam for their preferred courses.
  • Keep all the important documents ready for the admission process.
  • Submit the application fee before the end date.
Q:   What are the options for in the UPCATET Question paper?
A: 

Applicants, while filling their application form, will be given four choices: PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS. Students will have to choose any of these choices in the form according to their educational qualification. They will be given a paper of their choice in the UPCATET exam. There will be no change in the examination hall for any paper under any cicrumstances hence applicants must choose carefully while filling the form. 

Candidates will be given admission to a similar course for which they have appeared in the exam. There will be 200 questions in the exam, out of which 20 questions will be from the General Knowledge topic, and the remaining 180 will be from the group for which they have applied.  

Q:   What is the difference between the UPCATET Syllabus for UG, PG and PhD?
A: 

Yes, the syllabus is different at the individual level. The UG syllabus is based on Class 12 Science subjects. The PG syllabus is based on what students learn in their Bachelor's degree. The PhD syllabus is deeper and more detailed. It includes in-depth information in one specific area.
