AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026: Result,Analysis, Cutoff, Counselling

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, conducts AIIMS BSc (Hons) nursing, BSc (Post-Basic) nursing, and BSc (Paramedical) entrance exams annually to grant admission to all AIIMS campuses offering nursing courses. The entrance exam is generally conducted in the month of May every year. The conducting body uses a two-stage method for registration to the BSc nursing programme. The first is through the PAAR (Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration) system, a new AIIMS method. The second is through basic registration, followed by the Generation of Code and Final Registration. 

The AIIMS nursing entrance is conducted for admission to AIIMS BSc (hons). A separate entrance exam is conducted for admission to the AIIMS Nursing (Post Basic) programme. Candidates must check the AIIMS Nursing eligibility criteria mentioned below to appear for the entrance exam: 

Eligibilty Criteria for AIIMS BSc (Hons)

• It is mandatory to clear or have passed Class 12 exams or equivalent exams from a recognised board with Physics Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
• Candidate must have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12.
• SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate.

Eligibilty Criteria for AIIMS BSc (Post basic)

• To appear in the BSc (Post basic) nursing exam, candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council recognised institution are eligible to apply.
• In addition, the applicant must have registered themselves as nurses or midwives with the State Nursing Council.
• A mandatory six months of training as a registered nurse.

On its official website, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, announced the cutoff for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme. Interested individuals can check the deadline online in order to apply for admission to their selected campus and course. To proceed in the counselling process, you must achieve the AIIMS nursing cutoff score.

The AIIMS Nursing score is calculated based on the performance of the candidate in four section asked in the exam namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge. In the AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) exam, the performance of the candidates is judged on the basis of subjects such as Fundamentals of Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Physiology and Pharmacology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Community Health Nursing, and some latest Trends in Nursing.

AIIMS Nursing result for B.Sc. (Hons) will be announced by AIIMS Delhi. Candidates can check the rank list being published on the official website. Before the result declaration, AIIMS will release the answer key for the nursing entrance exam. Candidates get the time to cross-check the answers from the provisional answer sheet. AIIMS Delhi will also give the chance to raise objections against the answers selected by the exam committee. Post this exercise, the final answer sheet will be released along with the result at the official AIIMS Nursing exam website. 

AIIMS Nursing 2026 scorecard carries details such as the candidate's name, roll number, date of birth, parents names, category to which he/she belongs. Other details such as nationality, marks secured in PCB subjects and overall score. It also shows the All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and cutoff score.  

The AIIMS Delhi started the open round counselling registration on September 13, 2025, as there were vacant seats after the Round-2 AIIMS BSc Nursing Counselling. After the registration concluded, authorities released the seat allotment result on September 22, 2025.  The last date for the Online acceptance of the allocation/deposit original Document after the AIIMS BSc Nursing open round counselling result was September 27, 2025.  

The AIIMS BSc Nursing counselling registration or choice filling process started on July 11, 2025. Two rounds of counselling were conducted, which were scheduled till August 7, 2025. Applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria were allowed to appear for the counselling process. Eligible applicants had to appear in the counselling by visiting the official website.

Note that this password is separate from the password required to access MyPage. Students must maintain both the passwords. 

The second round of AIIMS BSc Nursing (H) counselling was scheduled from August 2 to August 7, 2025. The vacant seat matrix and seat allotment result was released on August 2, 2025. The institute reporting process was held from August 4 to August 7, 2025. Applicants whose name were included in the seat allocation list, can have to further appear for the counselling process by submitting the necessary documents.

Two important factors that AIIMS Delhi takes into account to prepare the BSc (H) nursing cut-off marks are mentioned below: 

• The difficulty level of the AIIMS Nursing entrance exam 
• Seat availability in the AIIMS nursing campuses as against the number of candidates who cleared the cutoff

AIIMS typically releases only one cut-off score for the B.Sc. Nursing program. A merit list is created based on the exam (and possibly interview) results. Candidates above the cut-off for their category are invited for counselling where they choose their preferred AIIMS institute based on their rank and seat availability. There might be a mop-up round for vacant seats, but the cut-off score remains the same.

The registration window for AIIMS BSc Nursing and the post-basic exam was activated on March 25. The AIIMS nursing registration process was conducted and organised online at the official website, ugcourses.aiimsexams.ac.in. 

Though extended, but the last date to apply for the WB ANM GNM exam 2026 was May 10.

Candidates can apply (basic registration) for the AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing, Post-basic B.Sc. Nursing and Paramedical nursing course as per the schedule announced by AIIMS Delhi. Yes, AIIMS BSc nursing entrance exam has a provision for negative marking. For each incorrect option chosen, -1/3 mark will be deducted. Candidates will be give 120 minutes to attempt the question paper. There will be overall 100 MCQ questions of 1 mark each.  

AIIMS Delhi allots a 2-hour duration for solving the BSc nursing exam. No extra time was extended to attempt the paper. It is an online exam.

There is no official intimation about the change in the AIIMS Nursing 2026 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national-level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing. AIIMS Nursing entrance exam is generally of 'Moderate' difficulty level. AIIMS BSc (h) Nursing exam was conducted on June 27, 2026 in online mode. AIIMS Nursing exam is based on syllabus of class 12 and Class 11. difficulty level of questions ranges from easy to moderate. As per student review, mostly direct questions are provided in exam. There are 20% to 30% application based question which are time consuming and analytical in nature. 

AIIMS nursing is an online exam which is conducted in computer-based mode. The BSc nursing entrance exam will be conducted carrying 100 questions of 100 marks (i.e. 1 mark for each question). Each section namely Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, will be of 30 marks each except GK section which will be of 10 marks.
