Sub Divisional Magistrate or SDM as it is called popularly can be said as the highest post in the UPPSC PCS exam. This post can be said as among the best posts in the UPPCS Exam. SDM is eligible to be promoted to IAS after a certain period of service. SDM is the most powerful person in the district after the DM and SSP. There are various SDMs in the district and each is assigned to a department. For example, SDM Law and Order is responsible for the Police order in the district. He is only second to the DM in the district for the police administration. He directly interacts with the Superintendent of Police for Law and Order purposes. This post is synonymous with the IAS at the central level.

Superintendent of Police (SP) can be said as the second most popular post on the UPPSC exam. It is the uniform service and the second most influential person in the district police after the IPS officers and Senior State Police Service Officers. The district is divided into various areas such as north, south, east, west, central and sometimes the names areas such as Sadar area, City area and Rural Area. The officers associated with such areas are called SP city, SP rural and the like. These officers work with IPS officers and the lower police force to maintain the Law and Order of the district.

Q: Do PCS officers get bungalow?

A: Yes, most of the PCS in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities get the bungalow in the most important area of the city. But in the Tier 1 cities, it is very difficult to get the official residence because of the seniority level and the order of applications pending for the residence. In addition to the bungalow, he is also entitled for the driver, a steno, domestic help.
