Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification, percentage, etc. to apply for CUSAT CAT. Applicants are advised to check the CUSAT CAT eligibility criteria before filling application form. Look at the overview of CUSAT CAT eligibility criteria for BTech programmes from the table below.

Marine Engineering 

  • Secured 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognised Board. 
  • Studied in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English in the qualifying examination. 
  • Secured minimum 50% in the English subject either in Class 10 or in Class 12 (applicable to all the categories). 
  • Candidates have to submit physical fitness and eye fitness certificates as well. The certificate should be obtained from Medical Examiners and approved by DG Shipping. 

 

Naval Architecture & Ship Building 

  • Scored 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 examination or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognised Board. 
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should be the compulsory subjects along with the other subjects in the qualifying examination. 
  • Obtain 50% in the Mathematics subject. 
  • Must have scored 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together. 

Instrumentation & Technology 

  • Obtained 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together in the qualifying examination. 
  • Obtain 55% in the Mathematics subject. 

Polymer Science & Engineering 

Passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as an optional subject or any other equivalent examination with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised Board.  

Secured 50% in the Mathematics subject.

International students are exempted from the requirement of admission tests for the academic programmes of the University. They can apply either on a self-financing basis or through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) attached to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The ICCR offers a number of scholarships to enable international students to pursue higher studies in Universities and other recognized institutions of higher learning in India. The International students are required to submit their application online, for the academic programmes of the University.

The percentage required to appear for are BTech in Marine Engineering, BTech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building, BTech in Instrumentation & Technology is 60% whereas for Polymer Science & Engineering it is 50%. However, there can be more specific requirements for each specialisation that aspirants can check on this page.

 There is no age limit to apply for the CUSAT CAT. However, a candidate should fulfil other eligibility criteria stipulated by the University. That is, there is no stipulated age limit to apply for the CUSAT CAT exam. Candidates of any age group can fill the CUSAT CAT application form and subsequently participate in the counselling if they qualify the entrance.

The rank list for CUSAT CAT 2024 for UG will be released tentatively in May 2024 on the official website. Applicants will be able to download the CUSAT CAT rank list from admissions.cusat.ac.in. The Cochin University of Science and Technology will release the CUSAT CAT 2024 result on its official website. Candidates who will appear in the exam can check their CUSAT CAT results online. The result of CUSAT CAT 2024 encompasses the marks, rank, etc. of the candidate.
