The university offers four-year full-time BE/BTech courses in various specialisations on-campus and through affiliated colleges. In addition, apart from the regular BE degree, Annamalai University also offers part-time BE courses covering four specialisations. BE Lateral entry courses are also available. Admission to the UG courses is based on merit, seats are further allotted to the shortlisted candidates through TNEA counselling. Some of the specialisations in which the course is offered are Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering, which have been accredited by the NBA with an ‘A’ Grade.

Annamalai University BTech fees range between INR 1.5 Lacs - INR 7 lakh. The fee mentioned here is the total tuition fee with some other components and is taken from an unofficial source, hence is indicative. Candidates have to fill out the application form online an submit it in offline mode. Aspirants can send the filled-in application form to the campus address via post. Candidates can also submit the form along with the specified documents to the nearest Learners Support Centre or LSC. 

Annamalai University admissions are based on merit and entrance which may differ as per the course opted for. Candidates opting for UG level degree must have a minimum aggregate of 40% to 50% in Class 12. Similarly, for PG level programme must  secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation. Additionally, candidates require to pursue either of the class from Class 8 to Class 12 along with a 'Nativity Certificate' to be eligible for admission at Annamalai University. The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.
