Review on Assam University, Silchar.
Placements: A few numbers of students after completing their studies placed successfully, of them become a teacher in government. Higher secondary school as a subject teacher of Sanskrit. Some others were appointed as assistant professors in different colleges all over India. Others were appointed as a teacher in different private schools and colleges. Around 80-90% of students got their placements.
Infrastructure: As Central University infrastructure and all kinds of facilities are available here. There are a big amount of books in the central library. Every department has its libraries and all kinds of important books available there. As a department of language or literature, a laboratory is not needed in our department. But other departments have their laboratory and the facilities are also too good. Every department has its digital classrooms and Wi-Fi and lane system are also good. The hostel facility is also much better than others. There are indoor sports rooms available in every hostel. 5 Boy hostels and 5 girl hostels are available at our university.
Faculty: In our department, there is a total number of 6 teachers available and 4 of them were permanent and the other 2 are contractual. All teachers have done at least their Ph.D. degrees. They are very talented. They treat us as their child and as a friend. The course of our department is relevant. We have known very important things in our life. Value-based education is given by the teachers. Every semester there are 3 internal examinations of 20 marks each. We also have to do assignments and seminars for all 5 papers every semester. The final exam of a semester is 100 marks, 30 marks of which come from internal exams and assignments. Exams are not very hard for us.
Other: The Sanskrit language is an ancient language from all over the world. That's the reason I am doing my Master's in this subject. There are no needed any improvements in our course. The campus is situated in a very green place and a few distances from the city crowd. The campus life is very blissful. The scenery and views from the campus are very beautiful. There are many fests even arranged by university authorities, Union bodies, many student organisations, and every department themselves. All kinds of activities performing by the students. In difficult situations, they help other people. Like at the time of flood they help the victims. All kinds of scholarship provided by the Government and UGC and other organisations is also got by the students. There are some other scholarships like students Aid funds etc.,
