On Comparisons
Q:   Which university is more affordable for BA courses among Joseph's University and Azim Premji University?
A:

The total tuition fee for BA courses at Azim Premji University is INR 13.1 lakh. On the other hand, the total tuition fee for BA courses at Joseph University ranges from INR 90,000 to INR 4 lakh. Hence, it clearly can be seen that St. Joseph University is more affordable than Azim Premji University for BA courses. However, the fee structure can be only one component that candidates consider while comparing institutes, but several factors can be taken into account while choosing the best university/ college, such as placement packages, seats, ranking of that particular institute, affiliation, accreditation, etc.

The fee amount mentioned is sourced from the official website/sanctioning body and is subject to changeTherefore, it is indicative.

Q:   Which college is easier to get admission in for BA course among Azim Premji University and Christ University?
A:

It is tough to compare which university is easier to get admission into for BA courses among Azim Premji University and Christ University. Both of the universities are privately owned and have similar reputations in Bangalore. However, if we compare the admission process, APU Bangalore accepts the scores of the CUET and SAT entrance examinations for admission to BA courses, and Christ University offers admission on the basis of the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET), Micro Presentation (MP), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

Candidates can choose any of the institutions according to their preferences. The only difference between the admission process of these universities is that APU Bangalore offers admissions through the score of the national-level entrance examination. On the other hand, Christ University BA admissions are based on candidates' scores in the university entrance examination.

Conclusively, candidates can choose any of the universities because for some of the BA specialisation Azim Premji University also conducts its in-house entrance examination.

B.A. in Social Science - Batch of 2027
4.8

University focuses on empowering rural students.
Placements: I am a 2023 batch student in B.A. in social science program at APU. The highest package is 9 LPA while the average salary is from 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiters are well-famous platforms like tech for India, etc. Also, internship opportunities at the university are a lot. Internships are provided either by the university itself or by collaborated NGOs and research platforms. The university has a good placement area but the chances are mostly given to post-graduate students rather than UG students.
Infrastructure: Campus is very good and full of greenery while the classrooms are full of technology including smart boards, Wi-Fi connections, and availability of laptops. The library is huge with more than 1 lakh resources. University has 40 floors of residences for students, seminar halls, and a mess where they provide nutritious food. There are medical rooms, well well-structured club system, and sports facilities that feels like home.
Faculty: Faculty members at the university are very helpful and with very good knowledge in their field. The learning at the university is student-centered. The curriculum is developed by our own professors. The curriculum focuses on the students' interests and needs. Whether it is social science or other programs along with lectures at universities. They have very interesting ways of teaching where we have field work, internships, and engaging classes full of presentations and student discussions. Passing the courses is also not tough even with actively attending the classes can lead to high marks.
Other: For me, the university is very helpful, coming from a Hindi background to this university where English is a way for us to go. I am developing on campus, and I am not limited only to the books. I am actually exploring the world through real life-based learning at the university. The thing university can improve is by adding more options in PG courses like M.Sc. which they are actually planning to establish in the upcoming years. Overall, this university is very good for growth and achieving meaningful learning.

Placements are average, but the faculty and infrastructure are great.
Placements: Placements at APU are not great if you are looking for corporate companies, as they do not align with the university's vision. However, if you are keen on joining NGOs and organizations focused on social good, you will find APU placements rewarding. Recruiters like Antara Foundation, Azim Premji Foundation, and Reliance Foundation come to recruit.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are top-notch, equipped with good projectors, single-seating tables, and chairs. The hostel is currently a 40-floor building with double-sharing rooms. The rooms are small but adequate. The commute from the hostel to the classroom buildings takes at least 15 minutes by walk.
Faculty: Faculty members is excellent. They teach contemporary concepts and are not stuck in the usual syllabus but do not ignore it either. However, the semesters are extremely hectic and barely leave any extra time for co-curricular activities. There is a lot to read and many assignments to submit just to pass the course.
Other: I chose APU because of faculty members and since I am not looking for placements and hope to pursue a master's degree, APU seems the best choice for me. I do not regret it.

Best choice for holistic education.
Placements: Not many students are placed as they are humanities graduates and mostly go for Masters, but a fair share of NGOs come for placements. Master’s students get placed in the education and development sectors better compared to undergraduates. Many opt for internships as well.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent, with good classrooms and labs. The university library has numerous resources, both offline and online. The playground and indoor stadium are great and are full of students all the time. Hostels are also great, with pantry rooms and recreational areas.
Faculty: I would say Azim has one of the best faculties in India. They are all Ph.D. scholars who have also worked in foreign universities. The curriculum is holistic, focusing on many aspects of learning. It is different from other universities as they do not emphasize competitive exam curricula but provide a good learning experience.
Other: There are many academic and non-academic clubs. Numerous events and workshops happen on campus all the time. A yearly college fest is also organized at the end of the academic year.

I am astonished by the diversity of the student community and the enthusiasm of faculty members.
Placements: Our university has a placement cell that guides students and allows them to explore various possibilities in the work sector, especially in the social sector. More than 200 organisations recruit students from APU and around 90% of students work in the social sector.
Infrastructure: Students have five academic blocks on campus, two seminar halls, and a library. Students also have two external hostels and an internal hostel on campus. Wi-Fi is accessible on campus and laboratories are also available. Our campus shows tremendous interest to support sports and a huge ground is provided. Frisbee is one of the most popular sports on our campus. In terms of food, students have a menu that is inclusive of both south and north Indian varieties. A first aid medical room is also available to deal with medical emergencies.
Faculty: Faculty members at APU are qualified and dedicated. They are very much approachable and students can reach out to them in case of any queries. Since students follow a liberal arts system of education, certain courses are common irrespective of one's major which I find interesting. In terms of assessment, students follow continuous evaluation.
Other: The community is diverse at this university. We have students all over India and each student's knowledge is diverse and fosters the same. Students are free to organise any event on campus.

Really good faculty, good environment, best place for fun and learn.
Placements: Being a new university with very limited students(350), it is providing many external internships opportunities. I don't have any idea about the placements as our batch gets the first degree from this college, this year. Carrer planning and future courses is a spectrum, which is going well for the 3rd-year students.
Infrastructure: Everything is fine from hostel rooms to the classrooms. The classrooms have good infrastructure and space to work. The library is open 24/7. We have a computer lab, the speed of the Wi-Fi is reasonable. Food seems to be average sometimes, but the canteen is open until 11 pm. There are no issues related to the infrastructure, and we get the fast responses if any.
Faculty: The best thing is we address every faculty and staff member with their first name or in the way they would like to be called. They are very friendly, in and out of the class. The curriculum is very different from others, continuous assessment is the pattern. Stress-free education and there is only 3-hour class for each course in a week. For example, I have 5 courses, I will be attending 2 slots of 1 and 1/2 classes for each course in a week which literally means I attend 15 hours of classes in a week. The class participation and interaction is something which is considered to be very important.
Other: This is the best place to have fun with education and learn in a way that you want to. We have a course called understanding India for 5 semesters which is very useful and develops our view of India. First-year seminar and advanced writing courses focus on critical reading and writing. Many other activities, clubs, forums, and talks contribute to the overall development.

Infrastructure: Modern classrooms, well-designed with good technology. Campus-wide Wi-Fi is accessible for students and faculty. Labs and computer labs are also available.
