Satisfied with placements, beautiful campus, average faculty, and below-average mess food.
Placements: I give an above-average rating because it matches the placement statistics of Computer Science students. Around 85–90% of students get placed in Mechanical Engineering in the 2026 batch. The highest package is 28 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average package is 8–9 LPA. Top recruiters are Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, ITC, and Tata Steel. There are very few internship opportunities. Only 5–7 students get internships at Tata Steel, Axis Bank, and ITC. The main role offered is Graduate Engineer Trainee.
Infrastructure: The Mechanical department at BIT Mesra offers various labs such as Robotics and Automation, CAD, Fluid, SOM, and Automobile Lab. However, most of the machines are very old or are not in working condition. Wi-Fi, classrooms, and library facilities are very good. The hostel is in average condition. The mess food is not very good. Free medical and sports facilities are provided. Canteens and vending machines are available in every hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members are supportive and provide good-quality teaching. They clear our concepts in depth, though not as much as required to make students fully industry-ready. The semester exams are well organized. A high percentage of students pass the examinations. Overall, I am happy to choose this course.
Other: I chose this course because it has very high diversity in every aspect. I learn various concepts that make students industry-ready. I only suggest that labs should be upgraded to be AI-ready. Bitotsav is the cultural fest, and Pantheon is our tech fest. There are many extracurricular activities. There is also a GP Birla Scholarship scheme.

College holds a great name in Jharkhand. Good ROI for circuital branches.
Placements: Approximately 78 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 1.2 crore per annum, the lowest is 6 LPA, and the average is 18 LPA. Recruiting companies are Nestle, Facebook, Meesho, Amdoc Development Centre, Arisent Technology, Adrosomic, Birlasoft India Ltd, and Cognizant. 20 percent and in Dee Shaw and ISRO.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for CSE students is good. For the first year there is a common building and then for 2, 3, and 4. There is a separate building called RND where the classrooms, lab, IT infrastructure, and many things. Library is big and fascinating. There is Wi-Fi in the classroom, building, and hostel but with some restrictions. Hostel and mess are average.
Faculty: Teachers are good. Many of them are highly qualified and are doing research and getting funds. In the first year there are common subject which is a con but from 2 year, main branch-wise subjects come. Semester exams are good you can pass by studying for a week. Passing percentage depends on whether the subject is relatively or absolutely marked.
Other: CSE has a good ROI and good placement. Fests and campus are good. The campus is very big and green.

Although the placements this year were fewer than the previous year, it's still in the top 1%.
Placements: I am from the 2022 batch, B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. 65% of students are placed so far. The highest package is 1.2 CPA (LinkedIn), whereas the lowest is 4 LPA. The median is 8-10 LPA. The top recruiters are Deloitte, Reliance and ZS Associate. The top roles offered are analyst overall.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the college is pretty solid. There is a library which has 2 floors, and the second floor is quite large. Wi-Fi facility is provided throughout the campus. Classrooms are big, have AC and are provided with digital boards. Now, considering the mess, the quality is okayish in some and great in others. Food is good, and medical facilities are top-notch, which cover all the charges.
Faculty: This is one of the fields where my college excels. The professors are knowledgeable, humble and experts in their field. The curriculum is good, but can be updated a bit to make it more relevant to the industry level (it's a bit more theoretical right now in 1st and 2nd years). Exams are moderately difficult, and around 85-90% students pass.

Good if it's the CSE branch, else completely avoid this place.
Placements: The placements are average if you're considering core branches like ECE or EEE. CSE is better when it's about placements. Also, the increase in student intake every year is causing major problems with placements due to over applications and one person one offer roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not suitable to accommodate the number of students who have been taken in. Labs are clearly obsolete, and hostels are pathetic. I'm in my 3rd year, and I live in an 8ft/10ft room with a roommate and 1 shared table, and my room door barely opens.
Faculty: Everything is outdated and obsolete, the course, the labs, and even the curriculum. The once-required placements are barely taught, and we need to get an online course to do the same. While the classes focus on useless derivatives and problems that are just obsolete.
Other: I got this branch because of a lower JEE rank, but it's bad here, the campus life feels dead, and the crowd is even worse. The connectivity is poor from the city, and no improvement in the overall situation is being made by the administration.

Phenomenal college with great placements.
Placements: My passing out batch had a solid placement rate as most of the students were placed. Approximately 70-80% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is around 60 LPA, whereas the average may be around 14-15 Lacs CTC, and the lowest may be around 6 Lacs. Top recruiting companies include NXP Semiconductors, NVIDIA, etc. Around 20-25% of students get internships, and roles offered are majorly consulting, data analyst, SDE roles, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities include smartboards available alongside blackboards to teach the curriculum perfectly and at an advanced level. Campus Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus, and hostels are also equipped with Wi-Fi. Canteens and college canteens are available during college times.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated and qualified, with a pinch of general knowledge. The teaching quality is fun and interactive. The course curriculum is entirely relevant in view of the placement season in core companies or software companies. The coding culture on the campus is also somewhat very competitive and healthy.
Other: Events are conducted once a semester, including a teach fest, one seasonal Bitotsav (which is an annual fest), and some small fests organized by the societies of the college.

4/5 college. Decent placements & infrastructure.
Placements: The placements are decent here. I won't call it great because the fee is also high, so on the basis of ROI, the placements are decent. In the 2024-25 year, the average package was around 12 LPA, and the highest package was around 1.5 crore per annum. There were 1080 offers, including full-time and internship roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also decent (above average), but not great considering the amount of fees we guys are paying. In the first year, you will get double occupancy rooms with basic facilities like a bed, a wardrobe, a study table and a chair available. From the second year, you will get single occupancy rooms, so that's a plus point. Mess food is good for survival. Breakfast and dinner are good, but lunch is bad. Night canteen is available. Sports facilities are good, both indoor and outdoor, with a gym. Healthcare is also good, and ambulance facilities are available. Wi-Fi is not present in hostels, but LAN is available.
Faculty: All I will say is professors won't help you study. You will have to attend lectures for attendance, but you will have to study from YouTube only. The college follows relatively grading system, and the exams are decently tough. The curriculum is relevant. About the pass percentage, 6-7 students fail every semester, that's it.
Other: Fests happen in college, but they are not as grand as people expect, so keep your expectations low.
