Review of Central University of Karnataka.

Placements: There are placements for other courses offered, but there are no placements for geography and geology departments. For other departments, they provide quite good placements. But, for the geology course, you have to give the GATE exam to secure job opportunities.

Infrastructure: Hostel facility is good, but food is not up to the mark. Environment of the hostel is good. University provides canteen facilities that are also good and hygienic. Students can eat and enjoy food from outside the hostel. Sometimes, they also provide good food that we can eat.

Faculty: Exams are conducted semester-wise, which range from easy to moderate in difficulty. Students can easily study and crack the exams. Surprise tests and internal tests are conducted to check our knowledge and how much we have studied, so we can stay in regular touch with our books as well.

Other: Scholarships and quota reservations are available for students. Fests and extracurricular activities are also conducted at regular intervals.

Doing masters in geology from CUK is a good choice.

Placements: Placements are not available for this particular department and in the core domain. But once we had Federal Bank placements in which 2 students got placed. Azim Premji Foundation placements are also held every year. Assistance for internships is available.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great, and the department building and classrooms are very good. Department has a seminar hall, museum, and good enough laboratories (petrology, paleontology, GIS). The library is very good with enough books. Hostel infrastructure is good, and enough accommodation is available. Good Wi-Fi is available as well.

Faculty: Academics are good enough, and teachers are helpful. The curriculum is taken care of usually. But if you want to crack GATE NET, GSI, you need to go beyond classroom teaching as the competition demands more. The exam difficulty can be rated as above average but manageable. It is mandatory to have 70% attendance.

Other: I joined B.Sc. in 2016 and continued for M.Sc. Here itself in 2019 and 2021 passed my PG. Overall experience was great for me and geology subject is very lovable and very interesting, if anyone is not finding any interesting field for their bachelor's, then geology is interesting, simple yet fascinating and it will surely yield you enough financial remuneration for an average student. If you dedicate few months to big exams like UPSC CGSE (GSI) or GATE then you can get a very good permanent financial stability and competition in geology is lesser than other mainstream science and engineering domains. I had some of the best days of my life here. Events and fests are quite good here, also if you do geology you'll get to go for field works on some remote and beautiful mountains. There's a hill top on the campus to chill.

It is a good college and has qualified teachers.

Placements: No one got placed in our course because we need to do PhD first, then we get some scientist or professor job. The packages differ depending upon the position or post. Top recruiting companies, as per my knowledge, are ONGC, Coal India and AMD. Everyone gets an internship in our course. The top roles are mostly scientist and professor.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are awesome. Every department is beautiful and well furnished. We get free Wi-Fi, and we have well-furnished classrooms and labs. The library is well stocked. The hostel food is hygienic, but the taste is average. We get free medical facilities in the health centre.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and have contacts in India as well as abroad. The teaching quality is good, and they teach us very well. They arrange webinars on special topics, and we went on field trips many times. The semester exams were not so tough.

Nice university with good infrastructure.

Placements: We don't get placement in this course instead we give competitive exam to get secured job or we can do higher studies like Ph.D. and postdoc to become scientist and professor. Top recruiting companies are ongc, barc, cil and many more. All the students have to do internship.

Infrastructure: For me this university was so beautiful even though we had to face some problems but still it was so beautiful and was expanded over a large area. We get free and unlimited Wi-Fi with 24*7 electricity. The labs in our department are not much but whatever labs are there they are properly furnished. The food was average in taste and acceptable.

Faculty: The teachers were very helpful even now if we want we can contact them for any help. They are highly qualified and intelligent and the teachers are giving proper explanations using animations and taking for field visits. The course curriculum is relevant and is helpful for future studies. The semester exam weren't so tough.

I had the best college life.

Placements: The placements in our department are not provided. In any institute in India, you cannot get placements in geology. However, you can opt for PhD and get jobs by attending competitive exams. We get the lowest salary in a PhD, which is more than Rs. 30,000 per month, depending on your academics. We can get the highest salary of around 1.5 lacs per month. Top companies that recruit from here are ONGC, CIL, BARC, etc. About 100% of students get internships because it is a mandatory part of our curriculum.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities in our university are A1, with well-furnished classrooms. The hostel is situated within the campus. There is a canteen also inside our campus, where a variety of food items are served. There is a bakery and multipurpose hall and many more things. Good quality food is served, and it is hygienic and tasty. We got a new dish every day in the entire week and got non-vegetarian twice a week.

Faculty: The teachers here were highly qualified and were very much helpful to us. They taught us, explained by using a projector and animation and other possible things they can do. Our course was very much related to the competitive exams we are going to attend. Our course makes students ready for the competitive exam and not for industry. The semester exams were easy to moderate and not very tough, and most of us passed them easily. The pass percentage was around 60%-70%.

Other: This course is wonderful, and you will explore something new in each semester, different subjects and different experiments. You will gain more knowledge about the past, present and future. I think there is a need for more faculty members in our department. We get varieties of scholarships. Different departments organise events and fest, but our department doesn't organise. However, we organise seminars and webinars and special lectures.

My university CUK is best for Applied geology. You can join this prestigious university.

Placements: In central university of Karnataka, 40% student get placed by their alumni. Some students got BARC, KSRSAC, INCOIS etc. Some students doing their Ph.D. Internships are compulsory so here all students got university and industry for their dissertation .

Infrastructure: I gave 5 star on this categories because all are too good like if I talk about Wi-Fi hostel facility, lab, library all are awesome here. Especially weather and night beauty of CUK. Hostel food are cheap and best. You can enjoy daily good and delicious breakfast here.

Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and knowledgeable person. All can freely ask to our teachers they are very cooperative. We studied here in projector there are many facilities like for presentation they have projector in every class. And the semester exam level are average.

Other: Geology is rare subject that's why I choose. Here if department recruit more permanent faculty members then it will be good.

Overall, the college is good, but our department students don't get placements.

Placements: In geology, there is no placement. Geology students have to go for PhD first or have to give competitive exams for jobs. Still, our libraries were good, and we can study for competitive exams. We get internships in research institutions, and we have to apply for it when it is released on their official website. Scientist and assistant professor jobs are offered.

Infrastructure: Everything is provided in our university. We get Wi-Fi, and there are many labs, such as petrological labs and paleontological labs, and museums for rock samples are also provided. We have very good classrooms with air-conditioners. We have a very big library with different types of books. Hostel rooms were very good, and the food was also better compared to other places. The hostel was hygienic and served tasty food. We get medical facilities, and we have an ambulance in our university. We play annual sports and games, and we have cultural competitions too.

Faculty: Our faculty members are very helpful, and they are all highly qualified. All have completed their PhD and post-doctorate too. They teach us with good explanations. Students in our department are not industry-ready. Exams are of medium difficulty, and the passing percentage is 65%.

Other: The best thing about our course is that we can explore much about our earth. Events were organised by different departments, and fests were organised by students. We get different types of scholarships, and I got a top rank holder scholarship and an ONGC scholarship.

Good infrastructure and beautiful college.

Placements: We don't get placement in our course and since 2021 a mandatory rule has come in which we have to do PhD to get professor job and for other jobs also we have to give some competitive exams and for PhD either we have to give exams or we have to give interview and the packages depend on our qualification and post. The top roles offered in our course as per me is scientist geologist and professor.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our departments and hostels were really beautiful. We get free Wi-Fi in both hostels as well as the department. We get a well-furnished classroom and labs with an AC. We have a fully stocked library. The quality of food in mess and canteen are hygiene and we get free medical facilities.

Faculty: The faculty members were good and supportive and they were highly knowledgeable and qualified. Their teaching quality was also good they use to give us proper explanations and examples. The course curriculum was relevant and that helped us in competitive exams. The semester exams were not so tough.
