The admission process to the MSc at the Central University of Kerala is not complete without the physical verification of documents needed to establish the eligibility of a candidate. 1. M.Sc. ZOOLOGY : B.Sc. in Zoology (studied in 10+2+3 system) with Botany and Chemistry/Biochemistry as subsidiary subjects or any subject under Life Sciences with Zoology as a Major/Core/ Equal Optional subject with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate and also in the concerned subject seperately, from a recognised University. Up to 5% relaxation in the minimum requirement of marks is granted to SC/ST candidates.The candidates should not have completed 25 years of age as on 01.07.2022.
2. M.Sc. BIOCHEMISTRY : B.Sc. with Chemistry/Biochemistry/any subject under Life Sciences with Chemistry/Biochemistry as a Major/Core/ Equal Optional subject (studied in 10+2+3 system) with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate and also in the concerned subject seperately, from a recognised University. Up to 5% relaxation in the minimum requirement of marks is granted to SC/ST candidates.The candidates should not have completed 25 years of age as on 01.07.2022.
3. M.Sc. CHEMISTRY : B.Sc. Degree with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate and also for Science subjects, with Chemistry as the main or one of the main subjects (studied in 10 + 2 +3 system). Up to 5 % relaxation in the minimum requirement of marks is granted to SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 25 years of age as on 01.07.2022.

Admissions to the Central University of Kerala MSc course are primarily based on the merit obtained in CUET-PG. The aspirants must initially register and appear for the CUET-PG entrance test. The candidates must thereafter register on the admission portal of the Central University of Kerala after the declaration of results and fill out the online application form. A merit list is prepared based on the CUET marks. Shortlisted candidates must also report for fee payment, documentation verification, and counseling to complete their admission.

To be eligible for the Master of Science (MSc) programme at the Central University of Kerala, the candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised institution/university with a minimum aggregate mark of 50%. The course admission will be based on performance in the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Programmes (CUET-PG).

In terms of placements, the University has maintained a decent track record. The official placement report or brochure is yet to be released. As per the data gathered from the NIRF report 2024, 156 out of 818 PG (2-year) graduates were placed in 2023. Earlier, 234 out of 803 students were placed in the 2022 drive. Further, the median package offered in 2023 was INR 3.26 LPA, which was almost 32% less in comparison to 2022. The University has released the median package details in the NIRF report 2024. During 2023 placements, the median package offered to PG (2-year) students was INR 3.26 LPA. Earlier, the median package offered in 2022 was INR 4.80 LPA. Looking at the past three years' records (2021 to 2023), a fluctuating trend was observed in the median package of PG (2-year) courses. According to central University of Kerala NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during Central University of Kerala PG 2-year placements 2023 stood at INR 3.26 LPA. Earlier, the University has not released the official placement data for the year 2023. However, the NIRF report 2023 is out on the official website.
