Big Move: IIM Visakhapatnam student chooses FLAME University to Study MBA

April 20, 2020: Mayank Choraria, a former IIM Vishakhapatnam student made a big move to join Pune based FLAME University. He appeared for CAT exam, scored 95 percentile and made his way to IIM Vishakhapatnam. However, his goals were not aligned with the curriculum of the premier institute. He made a calculative decision to join Flame University. The University offered him 100 per cent scholarship. Reasons that made him quit IIM and join Flame were:

  • The blending of Liberal Arts and Management courses at FLAME University leads to holistic development, which is absolutely essential for today’s managers
  • Courses such as theatre teach you about gesture, expressions, and body language; visual arts courses can actually help one with branding
  • Sports is compulsory in the first year; you get to choose 4 sports engagements, which contributes towards physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Courses like psychology and sociology can help one gain deeper understanding of caste, religion, etc. and insights into the variou

The university also offered Mayank all the recognition he deserved, for example, he was the appointed Coordinator of the Sponsorship Department for the annual college fest and is a core member of the Placement Committee. He always wants to push his limits and works overtime to achieve his goals. At present, Mayank is interning with two finance companies, since finance is his specialisation, HDFC Securities in Equity Research and Metta Capital Advisory, an investment bank.

Flame University invites students with SAT/ACT scores for admissions

April 13, 2020:Amid COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, many students who aspire to study abroad will not be able to pursue their dreams. Considering the aspiration and dreams of students, FLAME University has decided to invite the applications of students with (Scholastic Assessment Test) SAT or American College Testing (ACT) scores for its undergraduate programmes. The programmes offer three unique experiential immersions, with major-minor specialisation combination taught by industry experts and faculty across the globe.

The University also offers an array of merit scholarships and need-based financial support. Most prominent amongst these scholarships and support avenues are the full-programme fee scholarships, which are awarded to most outstanding students joining the University. Approximately 25 per cent of Flame University students are currently studying on scholarships or need-based financial aid. The College Board also provides a one-time scholarship to the limited number of students from low- and mid-income backgrounds who take the SAT, score a minimum of 1350 and get admission in Flame University.  

The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a standardised undergraduate university admission test conducted by College Board. The American College Testing (ACT) is also a standardised test for undergraduate college admissions conducted by ACT, a non-profit organization. These tests measure university readiness and predict likely future academic success of a student seeking admission to undergraduate programmes. 

FLAME University offers several undergraduate programmes, including three-year BA, BA (Hons), BSc, BSc (Hons), BBA and BBA (Communications Management).

Flame University to Conduct Classes Online Amid COVID-19

April 1, 2020: Considering the need to continue regular classes, FLAME University is delivering lectures online for over 200 courses. This also includes subjects such as Calculus, Psychology, Finance, Economics, Cinematography, Music and Visual art. A Virtual Education Task Force has been formed to prepare and encourage faculty members to migrate to online courses. University is using G-Suites and Google Meet platform to centralise classes schedules.

The University has its own Learning Management System that is facilitating online E-Library and E-Quiz like benefits to faculty and students. Flame University is known as an academic institution anchored in Liberal Education.

University to Host Conference on “High Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation”

February 12, 2020: FLAME University is organising the official launch of Postgraduate Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation on February 18, 2020, which will be accompanied by day-long conference on “High Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” The Postgraduate Program aims to help entrepreneurs looking for opportunities and forums in order to start new businesses. The programme's curriculum has been developed by practitioners renowned faculty, and innovation experts of the artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), enhance the reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will have required skills, knowledge and competency to start a nosiness of their own. Successful entrepreneurs across industry were invited for the conference to share the challenges faced and outcomes of their journey.

FLAME University Students Win 2019 Global Online Marketing Academics Challenge (GOMAC)

November 4, 2019: MBA (Communications Management) students Rohan Nag, Aakash Saluja and Kajal Samdani of  FLAME University have won the Global Online Marketing Academics Challenge (GOMAC) award. The event witnessed active participation of students over 60 countries, including the teams of top global business schools.

GOMAC is world class platform for digital enthusiasts to showcase their talent. Participants are expected to create a digital marketing campaign for a chosen client and make that campaign successful. Students of FLAME University picked Jain Heights, a Bengaluru-based real estate industry client. The students carefully strategised the campaign, delivered the post campaign reports and recommendations basis analysis of various digital channels and helped the brand target the right audience.

FLAME University Signs MoU with Amherst College, Massachusetts

November 5, 2019: Flame University and Amherst College, Massachusetts, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate, share best practices, and create research studies on academics and student initiatives.

Provost and Dean of the Faculty, Amherst College Catherine Epstein says that through this partnership they will facilitate students and teachers excellent opportunities to work on collaborative learning and research. This alliance will also include students exchange programs to facilitate exposure to industry and opportunity to work on global platform.

Initially, the MoU has been signed for five years letting students from Amherst spend one semester study liberal arts with and living in residences with students from FLAME University. Likewise, students at Flame University can also spend a semester or a whole year with students from Amherst taking liberal arts classes with and staying in residences.

Placements: At FLAME University, we have a placement committee that helps the graduation batch of students get placements in top industries. Amazing place to grow and explore while having a holistic degree experience.

Placements: I believe FLAME University provides a large percentage of opportunities that students can take advantage of. For the undergraduate the CSO Office helps provide internship opportunities at companies that even offer PPO's. Students have received full time offers ranging from 10 to 18 Lacs pa.

Good Infrastructure and Academic Opportunities!

Placements: FLAME is extremely guiding when it comes to placements and preparing you for the same. It not only offers a platform to get access to placement opportunities but enhances your skills in order for you to put your best foot forward. There are packages that surpass 20 LPA along with the chance to work at companies such as Unilever. Currently, in my batch the placements are yet to begin being offered however, the Career Service Office has been preparing us in several arena, including interviews, CVs...

Faculty is amazing, Mess food is not good, really good infrastructure

Placements: Over 80 percent of students got placed, the ones who didn't pursued further studies either abroad or in India. The lowest package was 6 LPA, average was 10 LPA and highest was 19 LPA. The top recruitment companies were Unilever, Adani Group, Bajaj, Finiserve, etc. Due to a compulsory course for summer internship in NGO and in Corporate, all students got internships. These internships were all over India in various companies.

Placements: Of course, Fame University is offering good placements and internship opportunities to its students of the MBA course. The average package offered was about 4–9 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Deloitte, Rotaract, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, etc.

Flame University in Maharashtra.

Placements: We often attend placement classes to develop our skills. We should buy books for placements and we should practice it daily. The highest salary package offered by recruiters will be 23.5 Lacs per annum. We were supported by our management for all kind of placement supports.
