Big Move: IIM Visakhapatnam student chooses FLAME University to Study MBA
April 20, 2020: Mayank Choraria, a former IIM Vishakhapatnam student made a big move to join Pune based FLAME University. He appeared for CAT exam, scored 95 percentile and made his way to IIM Vishakhapatnam. However, his goals were not aligned with the curriculum of the premier institute. He made a calculative decision to join Flame University. The University offered him 100 per cent scholarship. Reasons that made him quit IIM and join Flame were:
- The blending of Liberal Arts and Management courses at FLAME University leads to holistic development, which is absolutely essential for today’s managers
- Courses such as theatre teach you about gesture, expressions, and body language; visual arts courses can actually help one with branding
- Sports is compulsory in the first year; you get to choose 4 sports engagements, which contributes towards physical and emotional wellbeing
- Courses like psychology and sociology can help one gain deeper understanding of caste, religion, etc. and insights into the variou

The university also offered Mayank all the recognition he deserved, for example, he was the appointed Coordinator of the Sponsorship Department for the annual college fest and is a core member of the Placement Committee. He always wants to push his limits and works overtime to achieve his goals. At present, Mayank is interning with two finance companies, since finance is his specialisation, HDFC Securities in Equity Research and Metta Capital Advisory, an investment bank.
February 12, 2020: FLAME University is organising the official launch of Postgraduate Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation on February 18, 2020, which will be accompanied by day-long conference on “High Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” The Postgraduate Program aims to help entrepreneurs looking for opportunities and forums in order to start new businesses. The programme's curriculum has been developed by practitioners renowned faculty, and innovation experts of the artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), enhance the reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics. Students of FLAME University picked Jain Heights, a Bengaluru-based real estate industry client. The students carefully strategised the campaign, delivered the post campaign reports and recommendations basis analysis of various digital channels and helped the brand target the right audience.
FLAME University Signs MoU with Amherst College, Massachusetts
November 5, 2019: Flame University and Amherst College, Massachusetts, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate, share best practices, and create research studies on academics and student initiatives.
Provost and Dean of the Faculty, Amherst College Catherine Epstein says that through this partnership they will facilitate students and teachers excellent opportunities to work on collaborative learning and research. This alliance will also include students exchange programs to facilitate exposure to industry and opportunity to work on global platform.
Initially, the MoU has been signed for five years letting students from Amherst spend one semester study liberal arts with and living in residences with students from FLAME University. Likewise, students at Flame University can also spend a semester or a whole year with students from Amherst taking liberal arts classes with and staying in residences.

Yes, with 75% in Class 12, a student may get admission in FLAME University UG courses. But clearing the selection rounds is mandatory. To get a seat in the FLAME University of the MBA/PGDM course, you have to appear for any one of the accepted exams, like CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. After clearing the exam, you have to get shortlisted for further admission round, which involves PI or GD.
