Goa University Course Admissions 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility & Selection Process

Goa University offers various UG, PG and doctoral-level courses at campur or through affiliated colleges. The university offers UG courses such as BA, BBA, BSc, etc., while all the PG courses such as MBA, MSc, MCom, MCA, etc., are taught through various schools and departments at the university and affiliated colleges. Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG programmes. Further, Goa University also has nine recognised institutes that offer research programmes leading to PhD degrees.

If a student chooses to withdraw from any of the Goa University programme in which s/he is enrolled,  the following five-tier system shall be followed for the refund of fees remitted by her/him. Find below the refund policy:

Goa University conducts a Common Law Admission Test (GU-CLAT) for admission to BA LLB programme. Besides, candidates must also Class 12 with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST and 42% aggregate for OBC) for BA LLB admission. The university releases a merit list based on HSc and GU-CLAT scores of the aspirants with 50% weightage to each of them.

Candidates need to pass one-year master's degree after a four-year bachelor's degree or a two year master's degree after a three-year bachelor's degree with at least 55% aggregate or its equivalent grade to apply for PhD course at Goa Unievrsity. There is a 5% relaxation in the aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ PwD candidates)

Aspirants who have completed MPhil programme with a minimum of 55% aggregate can also apply.

Reservation of seats for admission to the various programmes of study shall be based on the Reservation Policy of the Goa State Government. Candidates applying for admission under the Reserved Categories shall be required to submit a valid Certificate to that effect issued by the Officer of the rank of the Deputy Collector or any other authorized Officer as notified by the Government of Goa. Goa University offers several Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate, and PhD courses to students. These courses are offered across Science, Management, Commerce, etc. streams. Courses like MBA, MA & MSc are some of popular courses among the students. They are PG level courses offered for the duration of 2 years. 

Goa University BA admission is entirely merit-based for the year 2024 and candidates seeking admission to the BA at Goa University must qualify the Class 12 or equivalent examination with the respective subjects from a recognised Board. Therefore, Class 12 marks are enough for admission to the BA programme.

Goa University MBBS cutoff 2025 was released for admission in the form of opening and closing ranks for all rounds and categories under the All India quota. 

For the General AI, the last round cutoff was 23562. On the other hand, for the OBC AI category, the cutoff was 16989. Students can refer to the table below to know the first and last round cutoff for all categories. 

Goa University offers two-year courses of MBA (Regular) and MBA in Finacial Services. At Goa University, all of these courses are taught through the Goa Business School. Below is Goa University MBA eligibility:

• Candidates need to complete a bachelor's degree in relevant subject to apply for Goa University MBA programme.
• Graduate in any stream including Commerce, Science, Arts, Engineering, Management and Professionals like CS, CA, ICWA, CMA, CAIIB and CFA, who have completed their graduation from Goa University or any other recognised University in India or abroad are eligible to apply for MBA Financial Services.

In order to get admission to Goa University, students need to graduate with respective subjects from a recognised university. 

The academic term for the BSc programme offered at Goa University usually commences in June every year. The academic term for the undergraduate general education programmes offered by the affiliated colleges of Goa University starts for the first, second and, third year BSc programme students.

Therefore, Class 12 marks are enough for admission to the BSc programme.
