Reservation of seats for admission to the various programmes of study shall be based on the Reservation Policy of the Goa State Government. Candidates applying for admission under the Reserved Categories shall be required to submit a valid Certificate to that effect issued by the Officer of the rank of the Deputy Collector or any other authorized Officer as notified by the Government of Goa. Goa University conducts its entrance exam for some of the courses. These are GU-ART and GU-PET for PG and PhD programmes, respectively. The university also conducts GU-CLAT, GU-QET, GU-CSAT, etc. Besides this, Goa University also accepts national-level entrance exam scores. The university accepts CMAT/ XAT for MBA General and ATMA for MBA Financial Services. For admission to PhD programme, the university also accepts UGC NET/ SET/ JRF/ GATE/ GPAT scores.

Candidates seeking admission to the BSc at Goa University are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 examination with the respective subjects from a recognised board can get admission to the BSc programme offered at Goa University.

Goa University BSc seat reservation is based on the reservation policy of the Goa State Government. Given below is the Goa University BSc seat reservation policy:

• 1% of total seats shall be reserved for Children of Ex-servicemen
• 2% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for the SC category candidates of Goa State
• 5% of total seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for PwD candidates
• 10% of seats, subject to a maximum of two seats and a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates of the other Indian Universities
• 10% of total seats shall be reserved for the EWS candidates of the Unreserved category
• 12% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for the ST category candidates of Goa State
• 27% of total seats, subject to a minimum of two seats, shall be reserved for the OBC-NCL category candidates of Goa State
• 15% of seats, over and above the allotted number of seats, shall be reserved as supernumerary seats for overseas candidates
• Out of the 15% supernumerary seats, one seat will be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants as per directives of the UGC

Goa University offers M.Ch. in Neuro Surgery at the super speciality level in the Medical field. The university accepts NEET SS scores followed by NEET SS Counselling for admission to the said course. Goa University cutoff for M.Ch. in Neuro Surgery closed at 1514 after Round 1 Seat Allotment results for General category All India candidates. Goa University NEET UG cutoff 2024 ranged between 10898 and 14834 for the OBC category students in the AI quota. So, students with a cutoff rank of 14000 have the chance to get a call from the university for MBBS admission. However, the NEET UG cutoff ranks vary for different rounds and categories. So, as per the above data, candidates with a rank of 14000 are not eligible to take in the initial two rounds because the cutoff ranks are more competitive during the first two rounds. 

Goa University cutoff for various MD and MS courses is based on NEET PG scores followed by the NEET PG Counselling. As per the NEET PG Round 2 cutoff, the closing rank for MS courses fell between 5970 and 11509 for the students belonging to the General AI quota.
