Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, also known as HITS, is a private university and was established in 1985. The HITSEEE exam is popularly conducted for BTech admission and it is conducted in two phases. The HITSCAT exam is mandatory for the rest of the UG and PG courses. For PhD admission, the university accepts admission through UGC NET/ GATE valid score.

1. SC/ ST Scholarship Government of India: Candidates, who belong to Tamil Nadu and have completed Class 12, are eligible for this scholarship. The annual income of the parents should not exceed INR 1 LPA. The candidates should not be in receipt of another scholarship/assistance from other sources. The scholarship can be renewed every year.
2. Merit cum Means Scholarship: The top scorers in Class 12 are awarded financial aid to pursue their higher studies in HITS. This scholarship is aimed at meritorious students from weaker sections.
3. Sports Scholarship: It gives special importance to the students who have excelled in sports over the years under its Sports Quota.
