IISc offers a four-year BSc (Research) programme divided into eight semesters. IISc Bangalore BSc is an interdisciplinary programme that covers the disciplines of Engineering, Social Sciences, and Humanities and a one-year research project. The final two semesters are dedicated exclusively to a research project. A total of six major disciplines are offered by Bachelor of Science (Research): Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Materials, Mathematics, and Physics. Ideally, it is a ten-semester course (Optional). Students who opt for the Master of Science programme will take advanced courses and carry out a research project in the fifth year. IISER 2025 entrance examination for the academic session 2025-2026 will be conducted online/ computer-based test. Candidates will get a the nearest ION digital zone as their examination centre and will give the IISER 2025 entrance examination on the computer.
The IISER Entrance Exam 2025 pattern has been specified for this year's examination. It has been observed that the IISER Entrance Exam 2025 pattern remains to be same as of the previous year of IISER Entrance Exam which was also conducted in online mode I. e. computer-based. The only change which is made by the exam conducting body is the marks awarded for each correct answer. Earlier the examination was 180 marks, but now the maximum mark of the examination will be 240 marks. The IISER Entrance Exam will be conducted in various exam centres across India. The duration of the entrance exam was 3 Hours and the medium of the IISER Entrance Exam be in English . The format of the IISER Entrance Exam is in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).. .
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has released the JEE Main cutoff for admission to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Research), a four- year full-time UG course. As per the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank stood at 903 for the students belonging to the General AI category. For other categories such as OBC, SC and ST, the JEE Main Round 1 closing ranks are 1665, 581 and 314 under the AI quota.
Yes, a student can apply for more than one course based on their qualifications but must fill out appropriate online forms for the same. The BS-MS program is a five-year integrated program leading to a Master's degree in science, while the BS program in Sciences is a four-year program leading to a Bachelor's degree in Science domain.

NOTE:
- Candidate must be qualified in any one of the exams mentioned above, and the exam result must be valid as on Aug 1 of the year of admission.
- IISER Aptitude Test is introduced as a new mode of entry for the academic year 2024. Candidates have to apply directly on the IISc admission portal to apply through this mode.
The data regarding JEE Mains cutoff for BTech admissions at IISc Bangalore have not been revealed for the year 2025. The JEE Main cutoff rank for BTech admissions at IISc Bangalore in the previous year was 903 for the general category.
