IISc Bangalore BTech programme is offered at the UG level in the academic feild of engineering and computation. The IISc BTech is offered for a duration of 4-year spread into 8 semesters.

IISC Bangalore BTech fee is INR 8 lakh for the entire tuition fee to be paid in duration of 4-years. Some of the fee components are to paid once while others are to be paid on an annual basis.
- Fee Strucutre: The total fee strucuture includes many components other than tuition fee, such as Gymkhana Fee, Library Deposit, Other Academic Fees, Statutory Deposit and Students Emergency Fund. The fee for Statutory Deposit and Library Deposit is refundable and needs to be paid in the first year. The tution fee for students belonging to either SC/ ST/ PwD Category is fully waived.
- Payment installments: Annual fees may be paid in three installments with the first installment of 35% for the month of Aug-Oct, Second installment of 35% for Nov-Dec, and the third installment of 30% for the Jan-July month.

IISc Bangalore BTech Admission & Application Process 2026
IISc BTech application process is open to online mode of applications. The admission to the BTech courses at the university is based on merit as well as entrance exams.
- Admission Criteria: IISc Bangalore BTech admission is strictly based on counselling by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). No separate application is required to be submitted on the IISc admission portal. Aspirants need to fulfill eligibility criteria as notified by JoSAA. STEP 1: JoSAA Registration
Aspirants need to apply for JEE (Main) on time. They need to appear for the exam as per schedule and qualify for JEE (Advanced). Then they need to take the JEE (Adcanced) test and register for JoSAA counselling as follows:
- Sign up on the official JoSAA 2026 online portal (josaa.nic.in/) using basic details.
- Select IISc BTech programmes during the choice filling/locking period.

No, IISc Bangalore does not offer direct admission in BSc. Candidates need to fulfill eligibility criteria and clear the IISc cutoff of JEE (Advance) to get admission. Otherwise, they need to take IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) and clear the cutoff according to their category for admission.
