IMU Kochi Admission 2025: Eligibility, Fees, Application Process & Dates

IMU is a well-known institution for Maritime studies. IMU Kochi offers five academic programmes across Science and Management streams in Logistics, Transportation, Port Management and similar Maritime disciplines. 

IMU Kochi provides various programmes and specialisations to students. For obtaining IMU Kochi admission, candidates are required to appear for the prescribed entrance tests. In IMU about 70% of students are placed in many streams like MBA and Nautical Field. The application fee for MBA courses at the IMU Kochi campus and the fees for registration for the IMU CET entrance exam are the same. The application fee for different categories is mentioned  below:

The IMU CET online application form is expected to be released soon. The official date for application form and other events will be announced by the Indian Martime University. Candidates can apply for IMU CET 2026 through online mode only. The link is made available on IMU’s website. The IMU CET online application form consists of three portions:

• Personal Details
• Academic Details
• Payment Details

Candidates have to fill in these three portions. Once the payment is successful, the candidate’s dashboard will appear, from which they can download the filled-in application.

During the Round 1 cutoff list, the IMU Kochi MBA cutoff 2025 varied between 268 and 351 for the General AI category students. The cutoff ranks vary for different rounds and categories. The cutoff was released for admission to MBA in Port and Shipping Management and MBA in International Transportation and Logistics Management courses. The majority of the undergraduate and graduate programmes offered at the Indian Maritime University (IMU) Kochi campus are in maritime-related fields. Since TNEA is only used for engineering admissions in colleges connected to Anna University in Tamil Nadu, results from it are normally not applicable for admission to IMU Kochi.

Exams administered by the Indian Maritime University itself, such as the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU CET), are typically the basis for admission to programmes offered by IMU Kochi, including the B.Tech in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering, etc.

IMU Kochi accepts relevant scores of IMU CET/ CAT/ MAT/ CMAT, followed by a counselling process. Moreover, before appearing and securing a valid score in the entrance exam, candidates must complete their bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate from recognised universities (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
