JMI Entrance Exam BCom (Hons) Cut off 2024: Check Category wise Cut off Marks

JMI selection criteria includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of scores obtained in JMI exam. For some courses candidates are required to also appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The cut off for each course is released after the selection procedure is over and candidates are called for counselling and document verification. The entrance test for admission to the courses offered at AJK Mass Communication Research Center consists of two sections- A and B. Section A is based on Objective or MCQs, while Section B is based on Subjective, Descriptive or Theory questions. The time allotted for both the sections is 3 hours. Section A carries 20 marks, while 120 marks are allotted for section B. Part A is the written test which has objective type questions, while part B is a written test which is descriptive in nature. They both are of 3 hours duration. There is an interview round which is of 45 minutes as well.

Candidates have to apply online to appear in JMI Entrance Exam. The application forms are released on the official website of JMI. Firstly, candidates have to create an account by filling their basic details and then fill the detailed application form, select their course, upload required documents and pay the application fee. The registration window usually remains open for a month. This year, the registrations were conducted in March and ended in April.

Yes, candidates can submit their objections against the JMI answer key within 48 hours after the same is published through electronic means. Candidates are required to pay INR 500 per programme to challenge the answer key. No grievance is entertained by the university without the payment of fee. The examination authority also do not entertain any requests submitted after the expiry of the time frame. Hence, candidates should raise their objections within the stipulated time.

The exam conducting authority releases the Jamia Milia Islamia entrance exam result in PDF format on its official website. The JMI result will be released as per the merit list consisting of the name, roll number and rank of the qualified candidates.

Although there is an interview round in the JMI enrance exam there is no specific topics for the same. However, candidates need to ready some of the topics like - Contemporary political, social, cultural and economic issues, Contemporary media, Fictional and non-fictional Films, General knowledge and the subjects studied at the graduation level, Visualisation skills and creative aptitude, Overall personality (confidence, way of speaking and presenting an answer etc.).

The result of JMI Entrance Exam is announced at the official website of controller of examination of Jamia Millia Islamia. For last year, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering was 25361 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this.
