In case two candidates get same score in the JMI Entrance Exam then a tie braking rule is applied. The tiebreak is done on the basis of date of birth i.e. the older in age candidate is given higher rank. For interview programmes, the candidate securing high marks in written component of entrance test, is given higher rank. If the marks in written component are also same, then date of birth criterion is used i.e. the older in age candidate is given higher rank. This tiebreak rule is applicable for all the programmes except BTech, BArch, BDS and courses where admission will be given through CUET.

The JMI Entrance Exam counselling process is conducted offline. The step-wise procedure to participate in the JMI Entrance Exam counselling process is given below: The list of selected candidates, as well as those on the waiting list, is displayed on the official website. Selected candidates will have to remain present on the counselling day along with the required documents. In programs where interview was conducted, a separate list of candidates shortlisted for counseling along with cut off will be displayed. Such candidates have to appear in their respective department for counselling. Selected candidates will have to fill ‘Student Registration Form’. The form can be obtained from the concerned Deans office/Department/Centre). They need to fill the form by giving all the details and also indicate their choice for courses. On the day of counselling, candidates will be required to be present with all the relevant document and application fee. The original certificates will be returned after verification. In case where there are many courses/branches, candidates will be allotted as per the preference filled in the application form. For upgrading the course/branch, candidates have to fill a form at the time of admission if they want to retain the allotted course/branch or want to upgrade. JMI Entrance Exam 2025 Counselling has started. Provisional List of selected candidates for BA/Bsc (H) Geography, BA (H) Sociology and BA (H) Psychology has been released. Candidates have to complete admission formalities from June 24, 2025 to June 26, 2025.

Candidates who will qualify the exam, will be required to participate in the counselling process of JMI Entrance Exam. Candidates called for counselling are required to pay the admission fee to lock their seats. The admission fee can be paid by cash, demand draft or online mode i.e. netbanking, debit/credit card etc. Fees in Cash may be deposited at JMI branches of either Indian Bank or Bank of India. For such payments, students are required to collect the “Pay-in Slip” from the concerned Department/Faculty/Centre’s office. Fees in cash may also be deposited in other branches of “Indian Bank” or “Bank of India” by generating a “Fees Payment Challan” online on JMI’s website (http://jmi.ac.in/feepayment). JMI accepts fees through Net Banking, Credit Cards & Debit Cards. For paying fees online the students may visit JMI website: http://jmi.ac.in/feepayment. Fees may also be deposited through Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia”, payable at New Delhi. Demand Draft will be accepted by the Cash Section, Finance & Accounts Office, JMI. Candidates should note that it is important to make the payment at the time of admission as without payment their admission will not be confirmed and their seat will be offered to the next candidate. The admission fee may vary for each programme. Usually, the university informs the candidates about the further course of action after the release of the result.

JMI Entrance Exam 2025 Counselling Process

The counselling after the JMI Entrance Exam is conducted offline. The step-wise procedure to participate in the JMI Entrance Exam counselling process is given below:

The lists of provisionally selected candidates for admission will be displayed on Jamia’s website, https://admission.jmi.ac.in/ The counselling schedule will also be published on the website for different courses offered through the JMI Entrance Exam separately. No intimation will be sent to the candidates by post.
The list of candidates selected for interview, wherever applicable, shall be displayed in ascending order of their Entrance Test Roll No. and will be displayed on Jamia’s website on the date given in the admission schedule.
Selected candidates must complete their admission formalities on or before the date notified as per the Admission Schedule provided in the Admission List. The result of the candidate should be complete in all respects on the day of admission. They are required to bring their JMI Entrance Test 2025 Admit Card and all the other attested copies. Failing to do so will result in the cancellation of candidature.
The original certificates will be returned after verification. However, JMI may retain the original transcripts/ results of the qualifying examination for a period of TWO months from the start date of the session.

Selected candidates will have to fill “Student Registration Form” (to be obtained from the concerned Dean’s Office/ Department/ Centre) giving full details about themselves. Wherever applicable, the candidates will also indicate their choice of courses they wish to opt for as subsidiary/ optional.
In cases where many courses/ branches are in one programme, the candidates will be allotted seats as per the preference filled in the application form, strictly as per merit and JMI admission rules. For the upgradation of course/ branch, the candidate has to take admission and fill out a form at the time of admission if he/ she wants to retain the allotted course/ branch or wants to upgrade. The upgrade will be done strictly as per merit and JMI admission rules. In no case, down gradation shall be allowed. The candidate is not allowed to change the preference after the form edit date is over.
Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate in original within 60 days from the date of admission must be submitted, failing which the admission of the student is liable to be cancelled.
If required, JMI may consider spot registration for admission from the list of selected and waitlisted candidates strictly in order of merit provided that they fulfil the eligibility criteria. The details about spot registration may be provided on the University website.
The university will issue separate notifications for the commencement of classes. The notification will be placed on the university website. Students are advised to keep watch on the university website for the purpose after completion of their admission.
