B.A. (Hons.) in German - Batch of 2025
5.0
It is the best college and has value for money.
Placements: Some of my batchmates got placements after graduation. Many students went on to pursue master's, either in the same language or in different streams. The average salary package offered is around 6 LPA - 10 LPA. Many graduates from language streams get jobs in either translation or to train Al in that language.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this campus is the best compared to other colleges in the whole of India. The campus is in Delhi. It is spread across more than 1,000 acres of land with full greenery. The hostel and educational buildings are the epitome of architecture. The whole campus is covered with Wi-Fi. The mess is diverse and provides good food.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely helpful and very dedicated to teaching. Professors here are of top quality, and their teaching methods are top-notch. Semester exams are tough. Students need to focus on their studies. Although attendance is not compulsory, students still need to attend classes.

the infrastructure is average and the food is also good in hostels
Placements: 1% students of my batch get placement offers. highest package may rise to 15 Lakhs and lowest 2/3 Lakhs. Google, Amazon, embassies, yep, Secret agencies. Top roles such as Translator, helping agent on embassies ambassador maybe and others as well. Fir further information you need to check the official website of JNU.
Infrastructure: Labs classrooms and library are fully furnished newly renovated classrooms contain projectors AC fans lights whiteboard seats etc. Same goes with Library labs contains computers microphones headphones ac's. Food of hostel is above average in affordable prices medical facilities are average JNU has its own health center. Some tournament like basketball tournament cricket matches volleyball matches etc are held by the hostel students.
Faculty: Professors are well qualified and experienced in the same field majority of them have teaching experience of more than 25 years. The quality of teaching is really good. The course curriculum is very relevant. The difficulty of exam depends upon the semester teachings every question is based on the things you've learned. Pass percentage is 95 percent and you've to score at least 50% for passing the semester.

Average infrastructure, good placements and a better environment .
Placements: Around 75% of students got placement through this course and they got 13–15 LPAs. There are various types of scholarships, like DAAD, the Germany Embassy, etc., and around 65% got internships at companies like Volkswagen, the German Bank, and the Embassy as translators and international market managers.
Infrastructure: Students got free Wi-Fi, labs with AC, big classrooms and a big 9-story library full of national and international books, magazines, and newspapers. JNU provides housing at a very low cost and provides 3 meals a day of good quality; there are almost 10 canteens on the university campus. And a health care center and a big stadium for games and tournaments.
Faculty: This course has the best placement and as a German, I have four economic nations. The course curriculum is more relevant and it teaches you not only the syllabus but also practical things like conversation games, meeting with foreigners and giving you experience to take jobs at the best company. Semester exams are quite difficult for an average student but they get passing marks when they study regularly.

Life in JNU and its Pros and Cons.
Placements: In language courses, you can't expect high placements. However, in JNU, if you want placement, you will get placed easily in multinational companies with an average package around 6 LPA. Amazon and other companies do visit the campus. However, many students opt for higher education, but you can easily get into companies.
Infrastructure: We have schools in the academic complex. So, for language, we have 2 schools of language and one language lab complex. All classrooms are fully AC, and Wi-Fi is available everywhere in the campus. Hostel has 2-person rooms. All hostel rooms have one fan, and each hostel has a water cooler fitted. The mess food is honestly very good.
Faculty: The faculty members are very experienced and highly qualified. They are also very helpful. The course curriculum is excellent as you are studying in the number 1 university. The semester exams are not that tough. If you give time to your subjects daily, then you will clearly excel.
Other: I have always been interested in learning languages, and JNU is the best and most affordable place for this. So, I joined JNU and am currently learning German.

Review of Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Placements: Top recruiting companies were Amazon, Facebook, Google, etc. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA. Our college provided good internships. The placement cell was not good and the response was not quick.
Infrastructure: The library of our college was good. Sports activities were mild and inactive.
Faculty: Faculty members were straightforward and skilled. Their teaching methods were very innovative. The course curriculum was good and knowledgeable for a language subject. Exams were conducted in 3-4 sections per semester. The difficulty level of exams was moderate. Exams were conducted on time, and everything was asked from the provided study material.
Other: The fee structure of Jawaharlal Nehru University was affordable. Our course fee was Rs. 2,500 but this didn't include books. The admission process was simple. Students should give an entrance exam to get admission to this college. Many social groups and clubs are present in our college according to society. Many students participate. Our college provides a good education. Many fests, hostel nights, and cultural nights are organised on campus.

Our university nurtures talent.
Placements: In our college, there was a separate placement cell for students. Top companies were Amazon, TCS, and Accenture which visited our college. The majority of students continued their master's program or searched for a foreign university scholarship while those who needed a job didn't find it hard to get one.
Infrastructure: Every stream had fresher parties, hostel nights, and a language fest, i.e., Hanguel Day-Korea. The central library was widely known for its availability of books, journals, international magazines, and newspapers. It offered a cyber library fully equipped with air-conditioners. Classrooms were wide and spacious. The campus and hostels were equipped with free Wi-Fi. Indoor games such as TT, carrom, cricket, and badminton court were available in every hostel. There was a stadium for sports and an indoor court for badminton and taekwondo (Teflas Students Activity Center). JNU-music, wildlife, mountaineering, etc., clubs were available.
Faculty: I was selected for B.A. German program. JNU's language program was highly appreciated and being a public university. It offered a feasible fee structure of Rs. 264 per semester which made it affordable for students of every section and class to pursue a foreign language. The BA and MA integrated programs were for 5 years while one had to maintain a minimum CGPA to get promoted from B.A. to M.A. There was no need to ask about the faculty members. JNU was a premier institute with a large number of highly qualified professors. While doing their bachelor's, they provided exposure and shared their experiences with students. Exam centers were flexible and cooperative. There was a dedicated language and a library for language students. In a 6 month semester, 3 sessional exams, 1 mid-semester exam, and a final semester exam were conducted.
Other: The admission process was done through a computer-based test, JNUEE-2020 (Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam), conducted by NTA. The MCQ-based test consisted of 100 questions without any negative marking. For the UG program, there was no age limit, but one had to clear the cutoff, which depends upon the number of students appearing on the test. Applicants were asked to provide language preferences. They could provide a minimum of 1 language and a maximum of 3 languages. After clearing the cutoff and "seat-blocking" by paying the semester fee of 264, selected applicants were called for further document verification and admission formalities. Counseling and document verification were completed on the same day. The admission process was smooth and adequate time with extensions was provided if required to procure necessary documents.

I am satisfied with the faculty members of this university.
Placements: All students of our university got good placements. Out of 30 students, 20 students are getting a salary of above Rs. 50,000 per month. Most of the students got jobs in translation and call centers. The course is good and can be continued to the masters's level without any entrance. The salary offered ranges from Rs.40,000 to Rs.80,000 per month. Companies like Amazon, Volkswagen, and BMW offered on-campus placements.
Infrastructure: The central library was widely known for the availability of books, journals, international magazines, and newspapers. It also offered a cyber library equipped with air-conditioning. Classrooms were wide and spacious. The campus and hostels were equipped with Free Wi-Fi. Every hostel had indoor games like TT, carrom, cricket, and badminton Court. There was a dedicated stadium for sports activities and an indoor court for badminton and Taekwondo Teflas Students Activity Center.
Faculty: Our faculty members were helpful and qualified. The teaching quality was the best. They taught us using the projector. Seminars were conducted throughout the year. The course curriculum was very useful for the current course. Teachers are always free to clear our doubts. Usually, 50% is the end-semester exam and the other 50% is an assignment, presentation, and sessional or mid-semester exam. The course is about German language grammar, history, culture, and Arts of German-speaking Nations and Western Europe.
Other: Many scholarships were offered by the university. Every center had fresher parties, hostel nights, and a language fest.

It is a great university with an excellent atmosphere, campus life, and the best crowd.
Placements: There are no placement facilities. That is the only thing I found bad. There are no placement facilities at least in bachelor courses, but different departments have scholarship facilities as you can study abroad. In that scholarship part, everything depends on your grades.
Infrastructure: Everything here is perfect. The quality of food in the girls' hostel is quite good. Lots of dhabas and canteen are available. There is some badminton court, volleyball court, and lots of other things. There is a huge library with an air conditioner. There is Wi-Fi in every hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated. They are really helpful as they understand students well. Semester exams are not that difficult if someone pays full attention in classes. You have to attend the classes to get a good score.

Hello Anupriya, Of course you should. Else what is the use doing only A1 level? One by one you should go up to C2 or whatever level DU is offering. This only will make you eligible for different opportunities for employment.

For the entrance exam, you need to have knowledge of basic and applied grammar, besides some competence for simple translation from the language concerned into English and vice-versa.
