Jaypee University of Information & Technology, Solan was established in the year 2002. It offers 7 specializations under the B.Tech program, 4 under M.Tech, and 8 under the Ph.D. program. B.Tech is a full-time undergraduate programme of four years with a total of 510 seats. According to the official website of JUIT Solan, admission to B.Tech programme is through two modes:

1. Valid JEE Main scores and merit basis (marks obtained in 10+2 examination). 
2. For Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, 50% of seats are filled through JEE Main and the remaining 50% through merit in the qualifying examination.

The latest cutoff information for B.Tech at JUIT Solan is as follows:

• For admission through JEE (Mains), candidate should have qualified JEE (Mains) All India Rank.
• For admission through 10+2 Marks Merit mode, 60% aggregate marks is must.
• For admission to B.Tech Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics, candidate should have passed 10+2 with Biology / Biotechnology as one of the subjects.
• For admission to B.Tech Lateral Entry, candidate should have passed Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Admission to the B.Tech course in JUIT Solan is based on merit in the entrance examinations or merit in the qualifying examination. Entrance-based admission to B.Tech depends on the All India Rank of the candidates in JEE Main. Merit-based admission depends on the candidates’ performance in their qualifying examination. For merit-based admission, the university will conduct counseling in the month of July. Candidates shall be informed prior and they will be allowed a choice of a maximum of three programs. The minimum eligibility for B.Tech is 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects.
