To get admission to JNU for BTech specialisations, candidate must have a valid rank in JEE Main. The cutoff was released for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, for which the last round closing ranks were 33509 and 47591, respectively.
Therefore, 30000 in JEE Main is a good rank to get admission at JNU.

Unlike many other prestigious Delhi-based institutions like DTU or NSUT, JNU does not reserve a percentage of seats for students from the NCR. Also, the seat matrix is strictly gender-neutral. While many engineering colleges add "Female Supernumerary" seats to balance the gender ratio, JNU's current intake of 126 does not include these extra seats, making the admission process purely based on category-wise merit ranks.
There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in May/June for 37 subjects. The mode of examination is CBT (Computer Based Test). NTA did not release official notification for CUET UG date sheet. Candidates can know exam details through CUET UG information bulletin. NTA will conduct CUET UG 2026 exam in multiple phases depending upon the number of candidates registering for the exam. Registered candidates can know the exact CUET UG exam on hall ticket. Candidates will have to report at the alloted exam centre on the day of the examination. Yes, candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must appear for the CUET-PG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students are admitted on merit based on their performance in the entrance test and the deprivation points are added to their score in accordance with the approved admission Policy and Procedures of the University. The CUET PG 2023 exam will be held for postgraduate course admissions to over 50 Central and participating Universities.

JNU accepts CUET-UG entrance test scores for admission to the BA (Hons) courses. Central University Entrance Test (CUET) is an all-India level entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission in UG courses offered in all the participating institutions. Candidates seeking admission to the JNU BA (Hons) course must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 45%.
Yes, JNU accepts CAT scores for admission in the MBA course. Candidates must appear for this exam and achieve a valid aggregate in the same. They must also appear for a PI round. Based on these, the merit list is released and selected candidates must appear for verification and pay the tuition fees for admission confirmation.
Candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must have a BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates who have passed BSc/ BCom/ BA with Mathematics at Class 12 or at Graduation level with a minimum aggregate of 55%. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates also need to appear for the Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG entrance test.
