For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD.

The total fee for KGMU MD course ranges between INR 90,000 - INR 1.64 lakh. This fee is given for all three-years of the course. Admissions to MD at KGMU is entirely done via NEET PG scores. To apply for KGMU MD admissions, candidates are required to appear for NEET PG entrance exam in the first place. King George's Medical University is a goverment university which was established in 1905. The university is accredited with A Grade by NAAC and is approved by UGC, DCI, and MCI. King George's Medical University is a public university which is accredited with A Grade by NAAC. Being a public university. The fee for various courses is not very high. As per KGMU NEET cutoff 2024, the cutoff rank for BDS for the ST category candidates belonging to All India Quota is 320828. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), conducts NEET UG counselling across various rounds and categories. KGMU accepts admission to most of the Medical courses through a valid score in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to the BDS and MBBS programmes in India.
