Admission to MBBS at KGMU is done via NEET UG scores. To apply for MBBS course at KGMU, aspirants must go through the application process of NEET UG. The applicants must register, fill out the application form, upload all the scanned images for required documents and make payment of the application fee. The NTA increased the NEET 2023 application fee by INR 100 for all categories and INR 1,000 for selecting exam cities outside India. The category-wise NEET UG registration fee is tabulated below:

KGMU NEET UG cutoff 2024 has been released for various courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. KGMU cutoff 2024 ranged between, 2059 and 29714 for the General AI category candidates, wherein, the most competitive course with the lowest ranks needed is MBBS (2059). Considering the NEET UG Round 3, students cannot get admission for MBBS course at KGMU with a cutoff rank between 10000 and 30000 under unreserved category, however, apart from MBBS, students can prefer BDS at a lenient cutoff rank of 29714. Other than that, MBBS course is available under the given range for SC, ST, and PWD All India category candidates only, at KGMU. The total fees for BSc courses at KGMU range from INR 48,000 to INR 3 lakh. Fees for the BSc programme also varies according to reservation quota. Candidates from general category are required to pay INR 48,100 (With Hostel) and 43,200 (Without Hostel). However, OBC/ SC/ ST category students are required to pay INR 42100 (With Hostel) and INR 37200 (Without Hostel). Usually, the tuition fee is paid at the beginning of each academic year.
The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group.

DM stands for Doctor of Medicine, which is a super-specialised course in the field of Medical. Candidates can only pursue this course after getting a PG degree in Medical. For admission to a three-year DM course at KGMU, aspirants must get a PG degree in either MD/ MS or any equivalent from a recognised institution recognised by Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Admission to this course is entirely based on NEET SS entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for DM is standard for all NEET SS aspirants.

For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD.
